I watched this music video called Neon Pegasis and it sounds like this could be applied very well to an MLP story. The entire things sounds vagely like an equestrian Super hero or some very powerful Pegasis who fights a dangerous Empire and other villians and such.

Also having a main villian and judging by the song he steals the Hopes and Dreams of others. That would be a Villian type that would fit in MLP.
