Finally, a new chapter! · 10:24pm Mar 10th, 2013

There is a new chapter out. However, there are still only five chapters! The original chapter 5 has been unpublished and will now be chapter 7. It will appear again when chapter 6 comes out, which should be done relatively soon.

Chapter 5 is a leisurely sort of chapter. It is a bit out of the way, but sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses. I think it's fun, and it's actually a much better presentation of the solutions of polynomials than you are likely to find anywhere else.

New chapter coming soon. · 10:52pm Feb 7th, 2013

I'm finally getting almost done with another chapter. I actually have almost as much material written that I haven't published yet as what's on the site, but it's in a lot of half-finished chapters. The next chapter was difficult because I wasn't sure whether I could go straight to the four-dimensional polytopes or whether more material on linear algebra was necessary. But finally I decided to focus on linear algebra, so the next chapter will be on the exterior algebra, eigenvalues, and

Is Luna an autist? · 10:20pm Nov 22nd, 2012

In writing this story, I have been playing Luna as an autist because her performance in Luna Eclipsed seems very autistic to me. What do you think?

Chapter 5 is out. In this chapter, things finally start to get really exciting I think.

Minor corrections to chapter 3.

Story update. · 6:41am Nov 10th, 2012

I have made some minor spelling corrections and edits. Watchers may be interested to see what I did with the diagram in chapter 3.

I'm nearly done with chapter four and that will, I hope, be posted soon. Chapter four is on rotations, which are a big part of the basis for all physics. This book is going to develop physics concepts in a way that is very different from any previous physics book, at least that I know of.

Why theoretical physics? · 2:50am Nov 2nd, 2012

There's a brilliant little book called The Little Schemer which teaches concepts in functional programming using a dialog format. I've often thought a similar format would work well in theoretical physics. For years I've dreamed about the book I would have wanted to read when I was learning physics.
