Technology is advancing at a rapid pace. Just a few days ago, an absolute madman launched a fully operational electric vehicle into space with a reusable rocket. Cost-per-kilogram of stuff going into space is plummetting. AI is improving at a frankly frightening rate. Mass-scale automation is right around the corner. Gene modifications through CRISPR tech might be an actual reality within decades. "Deus Ex" style robotic prosthetics are actively being developed.

So this is a thing now. User going by Hexatona recently told me about this: it's a complete audiobook of Monsters, using text-to-speech. Obviously it's no replacement for a "proper" audiobook with a real narrator, but I feel it still has its uses; if you just need to listen to Monsters while on a long car trip or something, this will work just fine.
