Movie Review: The Nice Guys · 4:09am May 18th, 2018
2016 was an interesting year for me in terms of movie-watching. I saw Deadpool in theaters and loved it, my dad and I watched Zootopia when it came out and had a good time.
A guy who loves movies, comic books, video games, as well as stories with colorful talking ponies in them.

Hey everyone.
Hope you all are doing all right. I've been kind of busy for the past month, but now that things have opened up I should have (operative word there, "should" XD) more time to put into writing and such...
And so, I wanted to share a piece for another crossover idea I had.
Scooby-Doo and the Equestria Girls.
Well everyone, I finally caught up with the rest of the world this week and saw the latest Marvel movie with my dad.
Since then, I've spent a fair bit of time thinking about what to say about this film. I actually tried to think of a more formal review for this, but I couldn't really get it down properly, so I just went with something a bit more informal...
Anyway, my honest thoughts on Infinity War?
I am in awe.
May the Fourth be with you all.
It's no secret for those that know me, I am a huge Star Wars fan.
So, like the title says, my laptop has been restored! Hallelujah!
What it needed was a new battery, and also a new charger. The battery was covered by warranty, although I did have to place an order with Best Buy for a new charger. Thankfully though, the guy there was nice enough to loan me a universal charger to use until the one ordered comes in, at which point I'll bring it in to swap cords and all.
My laptop battery is shot.
Specifically, the issue is, that I can plug it in and it'll hold power, but it won't go any higher than 24 (now 23) percent power.
This is frustrating, because I have a lot of my stories and writing on this machine. I do have backups on jump drives and in other places, but my laptop is my preferred instrument of writing and getting it done.
Hey everyone.
This is a new thing I thought I might start on the blog here:
Headcanons.
Fandom is a funny thing. We gather to watch, enjoy, discuss, critique and sometimes bash a certain show or work of fiction. And in that process, we tend to end up developing our own perceptions of the characters and their world. They can be widely accepted among the fandom, or they can just be little personal theories of our own making.
It's an interesting fact that, while I consider myself a Steven Spielberg fan, I haven't really sought out a huge number of his films.
I absolutely love Jurassic Park. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. Had an impact on me as a kid (and again once I was old enough to understand more than just "dinosaurs!" XD) that I simply cannot overstate.
Before I saw Wind River, there was Hell or High Water.
A movie best described as a "neo-Western heist film," Hell or High Water is the story of two brothers in West Texas, Toby Howard (Chris Pine) and Tanner (Ben Foster), who carry out a series of bank robberies in order to have the money needed to save Toby's ranch from foreclosure. Hunting down the two robbers are a pair of Texas Rangers, Marcus Hamilton (played by Jeff Bridges) and Alberto Parker (Gil Birmingham).
I have a certain fondness for Westerns.
I owe that to my dad. He was a huge fan of Gunsmoke (both the radio and the TV show), and I have some memories of him watching episodes of the show on TV Land. He also showed my sister and I a few of the classic Western films of the John Ford era - Stagecoach in particular was one of them, although I remember I liked Yellow Sky a lot more.
