From what I remember, the moderation delay is a bit variable, especially for new authors. In the old days, when everyone had to go through it, I can remember anything from one hour to over two days. It depends on how many mods are around at any given time.

After you've published a couple of stories and demonstrated you can keep to the site rules, you'll be able to bypass the moderation delay and send your fics straight to the post queue. That speeds things up a good deal.

Still waiting on my first story i wrote to be approved by the moderators, though i guess they take longer for new comers. I already got it published on my DA though under the same same as it's all instant uploads there.
