I apparently forgot that Shattered Hoof became the base for the New Canterlot Republic... Ah well. That's what I get for penning a story without making sure I'm clear on all the glimmer shimmer surrounding it. To be honest, I wasn't exactly certain where the New Canterlot Republic was. I just assumed it was at Junction R-7.

Are video games art? Sure, they contain art from multiple disciplines. No game could exist without the architects, visual artists, musicians, and other disciplines, so by that argument, it could be considered art. There are also others, notably Hideo Kojima, who have stated that the interactive element in video games invalidates the claim. But are they, in fact, art? I would want it to be a Christian version of Rammstein. Seriously - the melodies, hooks, and operatic thrashing they give the metal genre is absolutely epic. The closest thing I can think of is RED, and although they're in the same ballpark via a slight stretch of the imagination, they're still a long way away stylistically. After thinking about it for five seconds, I've decided to change the title of the entire story. Derpy's Gambit is dead. Long live Wounds and Weapons!

I just plotted the next stage of the story, and I'm giving it not one chapter, but at least five. Titled "Wounds and Weapons," the series will center around Boomdrop and dive into the search for the last Guardian of Harmony in the first chapter, feature an entire adventure for Scootaloo and Derpy in Episode Two, send the volatile pair of Rainbow and Razor through the Everfree on a chase, and finally highlight the character I've barely mentioned in the series.
