I smiled wide, as my soul became elate,
My notifications read just at 148.
When I submitted I hardly expected much,
When I awoke, my heart you all touched.
My cheeks lifted, filled with glee,
My story rests at 'now hot' position three.

It was shortly after the dead of night,
My mind was captured with the dread of fright.
When I noticed that my little notification bell,
Had quite the good news to tell.
It seems the new story has yet to fall,
Indeed, this is good news after all.

My legs jitter as I shield my eyes blind,
I cannot bare to see that which I might find.
After I again pressed 'Submit', my mind braced,
To expect words with a foul taste.
I bare not to see what I might find,
So I flinch, and let my eyes go blind.

My day was gloomy, unlike I've ever seen,
My mind was fitful, showing reality mean.
My day, marred by poor sleep,
And my work, judged by many as cheap.
The day ended, my mind new and clean,
I sit at my computer, I know what should have been.

I wake up, to the sun's morning sheen,
I roll over to stare at a screen.
I press where needed, to find my work,
I find the reception, found comments that lurk,
I close my eyes, and let out a silent scream.
This morning I find, should've let me dream.
