It's amazing how the ensuing years bring perspective on all that we've done. How all of the tiny goings-on eventually add up into something we never saw coming, but looking back, we wonder how on earth we missed its approach.

I'm not going to lie and say that I wouldn't change anything if I had the chance, but at the same time, I'm at peace with where I am now.

There's joy here.

Contentment.

And you know what?

I was never alone.

Not once.

And I am so thankful for that fact.

I understand now.

This world is dying.

And changing into something new.

But is it for good, or ill?

I can't tell.

We'll have to wait and see.

But why have I woken up?

Why am I here, standing in the ruins of a broken world?

I don't know, but until I figure out, I'll continue to write.

I'll finish what I started.
