Ah, the glory of writing.

I've loved writing for a long time. Getting back into the swing of things has been difficult, especially with everything in my life at the moment. I'm keeping my focus on The Blazing Sun, and other unfinished stories, but I feel the need to re-spark that creativity in my writing. This has led me to a conclusion; I will be rewriting parts of my already finished stories, or continuing them.

Seven chapters in! I'm very glad that people are liking the story. It's not everyone's taste, yet it has gotten a considerably larger response than I thought it would get. So, let me be honest for a little bit here.

Writing has been, well, almost completely stagnant for me as of late. Things just aren't going the way that I imagined they would be going, and with all of the real life stuff that's been going on and with my work, it's been quite depressing to just look at my half-finished, or barely started stories and realize that I might've made something I can't fully commit to.

Ninety-six years old. Almost nobody makes it that far, yet you did. I wasn't religious by any means, but I still attended the church ceremony, sat through prayer, and watched your urn be surrounded by smoke. I didn't get to know you for long because you were already having issues by the time I had finally gotten to know you, but I'm glad I got to see the last person of your generation in my family before you passed.

Sequels are ways for authors to continue their story in a new light, giving the story new conflicts and characters and change the theme that the original story had. It's a way for us to continue something that we thought complete, or a way to adapt the story with current capabilities and writing techniques that we may have learned. It's also a way to give fans of those stories more of what they love.

Yet, sequels are not so easy to write.
