My main thought was on the speed of the reply, you can see where other authors have sent messages on the other pages of my user profile.

No bot, I wouldn't even know how. I was just available and checking posts and messages when I saw your... whatever you call the bell-shaped icon at the top that tells you who favorites you.

I usually write a little thank you. It's a nice thing to do, I think.

From your reaction, does that mean not many writers say thanks?

Been trying to find all the old stories I read in the past and re-add them to my favorites, what you saw was a re-favorite. Read the story a year or two ago (or what feels like it). Remember it being pretty good.

And do you have a bot or something doing these replies? Auto-reply and follow to anyone who favorites? It was an instant after I clicked that button that I got this notification.
