Well thank you for the kind words and I know what you mean with Rarity with many of the rejections seeming off for her. With this story, I really gave thought about why she would give up Spike if he could make her happy and it hit me, Generosity. If Rarity believed that Spike would be happier with someone else and that she may hurt him then she would give up her own happiness for him. I don't like her being treated like a villain so I kinda made her the one that gave up the most for others.
