Out of the woods · 6:39am Dec 11th, 2013

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind, but things are getting better with alarming speed and reliability. It turns out my brother didn't have a heart attack at age thirty: he's had a stroke at age thirty. Doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs. The doctors even think it had little or nothing to do with his diabetes (though it certainly didn't help). Just a stroke, out of nowhere, for no discernible reason. In most cases, people get a heart attack that causes a stroke. In his

Some good news · 6:58pm Dec 2nd, 2013

I've been told that a person's chances of recovering from a heart attack are directly proportionate to how quickly they receive medical help. There's been a few times when my brother opened his eyes and squeezed his hand (slightly), so bodily paralysis isn't the main concern: right now, the doctors are mostly worried about brain damage. Why? · 10:50am Jul 18th, 2013

So I got a PM from a fellow writing contemporary named Bad Horse (I'm using the dictionary definition of "a person or thing living or existing at the same time as another") who asked me a number of puzzling questions that revolved around a similar theme: Why do I write?

So while I procrastinate about the continuation of Erase and Rewind, I'd like to share with you my second cardinal rule of writing. Which I flagrantly ripped off of my brother, who is a visual artist. It was his idea and it's a bloody good one. This is why a thousand of what I make is worth one of what he makes.

Rule number two: Stare out a window.

Eeeeeeee! · 10:31pm Jun 22nd, 2013

Erase and Rewind made the front page of Equestria Daily, and I am on a sugar rush!

Well that explains why I got 21 "likes" and 450 page referrals in a single day. This is the first time I've had a story featured on EQD, and y'know what? It feels good. A great big thanks to everyone visiting me! Please comment on the story and tell me what you think!

There we go.

As you may have heard, I'm participating in a writing competition: a regular event hosted by the fine folks at mlpchan. The "writing" phase is over, and stories have been assembled into an anonymous gallery for the enjoyment of all.
