What can I say? I kinda feel like an unworthy plagiarist now. What an amazing tale.

Good thing I didn't set out to write a story about steam trains in Equestria. If you haven't read it but like Steel Dreams, you HAVE to read Highball.

Turns out that ponies will sometimes want to go for a train ride (accompanied by their human handler, but still). As it seems, the Welsh rail workers haven't got the memo on how to treat Equestrian ambassadors yet. It is hoped that timely intervention by the British government will avert an inter-dimensional incident.

So, this is it.

The single strangest (but serious) thing I've ever attempted to write is done and the last chapter will be forthcoming shortly. I've done a ridiculous amount of research for the smallest things that more often than not only affect a single sentence or two. It's been tremendously fun ;)

So, I did a thing.
I recently visited my parents who live 1100 km to the south of me in Germany and took the train, since that's by far the cheapest and usually most comfy way to do that. Except that there had been a minor disaster on the line connecting Frankfurt and Cologne that had thrown most of the timetable into chaos.
