As the title states, Rarity's Road is on hiatus because I am hard at work on Stallionslaughter's second album. I would like to have it finished by the summer around the same time that My Little Putrefaction, the debut album, was released. Sorry if the seven of you were really looking forward to updates, but I probably won't be back at it for several months.

I write shorts that are well received, but when I try to write a depthy story, it gets downvoted like crazy. I'd really like to know why. I'm not butthurt about the downvote, but I don't understand why none of the readers are telling me why.

I get the feeling that the (sex) tag on a mature story which does not devolve into cloppy, pointless nonsense is probably the reason, but I'd really like to know for sure.

I have Chapter 6 finished, and I'm beginning chapter 7. I've resolved my issues with were to go from there, and I think it's about time to reveal how they're going to fix everything. Ditzy and Rarity's relationship is a backseat plot, and from what I've heard, not a combination that would be expected. Chapter 6 picks up on this idea of ponies that are rarely shipped together, and our heroes begin to suspect a love is brewing between two unexpected members of their commune.

I'm proofing Chapter 5 right now. After a few read-throughs, I am sure about the events that take place. I debated with myself through a lot of points, and I had to go back and change a lot of things to make it feel more natural.

I did end up making some tiny changes like the instances that I used the U.S. system of units. As stupid as this may be, I use metric to avoid the words "foot" and "feet". I also almost changed the ending entirely to include the first part of chapter 4, but felt it was wrapped up nicely where it was.

I don't know if this makes sense, but I like to have most of the following chapter finished to make sure that there is nothing in the previous chapter that I want to change. For instance, if I decide that the entire world explodes in chapter 3, and then decide that I want to do some Earth stuff in chapter 4, I'll go back and write Earth back in for a chapter longer. My outlines are really loose like that.

I've got a lot of momentum on Rarity's Road, so Black Ink is on hiatus. I was having a really difficult time getting it started anyway.

Rarity's Road is a work in progress, but I've got a pretty clear idea of how I want things to work. To boot, I have a working ending.

So, I was cleaning house, found a thumb-drive, and checked it out.

I has an old pony fanfic that I began a million years ago called Black Ink where Elaina Mash, Button's Mom, is the victim of an attempted murder. I remember it was supposed to be a sequel to Decapitating Harmony.

I may kick that back off sometime in the future... the far future, I don't work quickly.
