Well, this isn't something I expected to be doing. I've been hanging around the fandom on the periphery for a while. I've never really gone away but time just hasn't been available. Since I last posted a chapter here, I worked five years in a maximum security prison, got married, had a six-year-old daughter and bought a house. I'm a manager in a much less dangerous field now and I'm doing alright.

I can't believe how long this chapter is taking. I want to apologize to y'all for the delay after promising a faster turn around. I think the chapter might be cursed. I've rewritten it several times, and the coordinated death of all three of my computers sidelined me for a week. I've also just started a new job. After working eight years in radio, taking a temp job in a warehouse is a big change. It's been kicking my flank and I've been coming home and collapsing.

Today is my last final. I walk and get the most expensive piece of paper ever Saturday. And all this crap has kept me from writing a whole lot of ponies...

It's good to get a chapter out after nearly a month since A Colt's Best Friend went up. That DC trip really slowed me down. The bones of Chapter 3 are almost put together. That's the benefit of having switched from a two part opener to a three act arc. So the turn around shouldn't be as bad.

So I just finished touring the District of Columbia with family. There is some awesome stuff in our nation's capital. The Metro wasn't nearly as... well... stereotypically terrifying as I expected. It was rather nice,and only one station smelled bad! I got to take in the sight, walk an unholy amount, and generally keep the wife happy.

But, that is the past! It's Pony Time! Chapter 2 of Homecoming should be out in a few days and I've got a new fluffy piece in the oven!
