This final draft is diverging a little from the previous one, so I need to rework some chapters (especially in this middle chunk). Had an extremely busy week and haven't had time to give a final polishing pass to the next chapter, so I'm going to delay it till next sunday. Apologies! We'll resume the biweekly pace next week.

I'm considering a longer break near the end of act 2 to get all of act 3 polished so I can return to the weekly posting schedule for the final set of chapters.

I liked having the extra time to do final proofreading and minor rewrites so much that I'm going to make it a regular thing. I'll post chapters biweekly from here on out. There are still a couple later chapters that I'm not super pleased with, so I might take a little extra time once we get closer to them to tweak them more.

After a lot longer than it really should have taken, I'm finally at a point where I can start publishing Thicker Than Water. I plan to put up about one chapter a week, although we're starting off with two because they're so closely intertwined. There are 27 chapters and an epilogue in total, at a little less than 200k words. I'm still tweaking things here and there so the final wordcount might go up or down. It's been a long wait, but I hope you all enjoy it.

Sorry for the lack of updates, been hard at work procrastinating. Still writing, just at a snail's pace:

I'll catch the writing bug again soon enough and crank out a few chapters in a month, I'm sure. It's hit the third act, so once the climax gets going the rest should be smooth sailing until the first draft is done. The second draft shouldn't take long at all, those always go much faster for me.

Blargh, finally:

We've hit the 100k wordcount mark, which is nice. And we're over halfway done, so I'm on track for the wordcount total as well. I don't think I'm going to hit my original June date but it might be finished this year at least. Not much else to add this month, let the grind continue.

Progress hasn't halted, but it is going very, very slowly right now--a hundred words a day or so. I don't know what it is about this chapter but I am still hitting a wall with it. It's not even like it's a complicated chapter, it's an action scene of all things. I'll get through it eventually. Once the second wind hits I'll probably go back to cranking out 2-3 chapters a month, but who knows if that'll be in March or sometime later when the sun starts shining again.

I've officially hit a brick wall, here. This chapter's been sitting there most of the month, aside from me deleting half of it and rewriting a few different ways. I'm still not happy with it, but it's getting to the point where I want to just call it quits and move on to the next one to let this sit until the second draft.
