Yes, I know I'm a day early, but I don't know if I will be on tomorrow. This is a busy week for me. I still have today and Thursday that I have to work, and then I took off the weekend because my half-sister is flying in from Kansas. (I live in Indiana, ~700 miles away. That's a big deal.) Hello everyone! I have news!

This past weekend, I wrote a 2,700 word one-shot that I'm currently editing along with a few prereaders. The problem is, I am currently sick, which is draining both my energy and my motivation. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll feel a bit better, and then I'll finish my editing. At any rate, the new story should be out in the next few days.

The contest is over. My story, "The End of Flying Lessons", tied for 4th in judges' choice and tied for 4th in readers' choice. I missed a higher spot in each by one point. I don't believe in voting for my own stories, but if I had, I would have tied for second in reader's choice. Needless to say, I'm a little bit disappointed, both for how close it was and that I didn't meet my goal of being in the top three.

I just checked in on the status of all three of my stories. I submitted them all, hoping that one would stand out enough to be inducted. But all three? Am I really that good, or do they just accept most submissions?

Hey everyone, just another update blog. Does anyone read these?

I started a new semester of college. The bad news: I didn't schedule enough classes, so now my associate's degree will take another year to get. The good news: I only have three classes this semester, and my work hours have been trimmed back somewhat, so I should be able to get at least a few hours of writing in per week. My goal is at least five hours a week, but that depends on motivation and inspiration.
