Forgive me if this is sloppy, but I'm still crying as I write this.

Today, I lost one of my cats. She was a few weeks away from turning 18 and her kidneys had been slowly failing for the last few weeks and finally shut down completely a couple of days ago. I've been so focused on trying to care for her these past weeks that I've been unable to muster any will to write. I'll get back to writing in a few days. For now, I just need some time to gather myself.

Wow, life is one hell of a rollercoaster. I've been on all sorts of ups and downs the past year and it feels kinda like I'd need a story unto itself just explain everything. The short of it is that I've finally taken the plunge, jumped far off into the deep end and gone back to school, moved into a new place, went through at least two bouts of depression, quit my tabletop group and lost touch with some good friends as a result, found motivation to write and immediately got sick for three

Okay, I'm still not one to make huge posts going over every detail of how much my life sucks, and how it's constantly getting in the way of me being a productive writer, but I still want to let anyone who still cares know what's up.

Long story short, been fighting depression again the past couple of months. Situation isn't any different, but I'm feeling better right now thanks to my friends and actually made some progress on writing again.

If only. Mostly, I've just been working a lot the con was lots of fun, but did happen to eat all my savings (as conventions tend to do). Been trying to get more hours at work and what not and that's been a mixed bag in terms of my general condition. Had a few rough spots I won't go into, but the main point is I'm finally getting back to working on my stories.

It has been a long time in planning, and no small amount of extra time at work, but with a whole lot of scrimping and saving I've managed to find my way to Bronycon this year. Very much in part to some very close friends of mine.

Needless to say, making certain I could make it was a fairly big damper on my free time the past few months. Hopefully, I should have much less to distract me once I return.
