Here in Tarandroland Summer Sun Celebration day is Srz Bzniss, since the place is so bucking dark and cold the rest of the year. As compensation, our shining goddess Skinfaxi lets the sun stay up really really long, all the night in the lucky places (the ones with the most darkness the rest of the year). The celebration involves music, dancing, flowers, green leaves and, of course, since this is reindeer we're talking about, booze.

Several people who liked my fic has said things about "world-building", "mythology" and the like. There is a remote possibility some of them actually wondered about a piece of canon show mythology that might fit in with the fic: the Origin of Equestria story from "Hearth's Warming Eve". Specifically the Windigo; they are nasty ice monsters, which seems like they would fit in a story about literally fighting winter.
