What I really like about them is how well you blend "reality" or something that isn't too much of a strange situation and then seamlessly insert a more fantastic and other-worldly setting. It makes the fantasy of the story very potent compared to those that just shoot for the moon from the start. Also, I play violin as well and I am the concert master in my school orchestra as well in the highest youth orchestra of my town so I would love to discuss such topics with you if you would feel inclined.
