Thank you for favoriting 'That Indestructible Something'. During the research I did as I wrote the story, I really enjoyed learning about Franz Kafka. I was surprised to find out what a total sweetheart the man was. People loved him - they called him an 'angel'. Apparently, he was just a very caring, loving man who was decidedly nice to those around him.

For a man who is best remembered by a story about turning into vermin and being rejected - or by a cruel trial by a totalitarian regime, it was fascinating to learn who he was in his daily life. Franz Kafka would be the guy in the apartment next you yours that would offer to house-sit and care for your dog while you were away. The kind of guy that would offer to share his last plate of beans even though he was broke. The kind of man who would help a cockroach to escape out the window rather than step on it.

A fascinating man, really.
