I may cease to offer generic thank yous--believe me I am grateful!--because at this rate it's going to clog up the discussion aspect something fierce. On the other hand, I by no means want to give anyone the impression that 'my comment was not good enough to answer'. I read them all. I take feedback into consideration.

I would be lying if I didn't say that one of the songs appearing in the Interlude wasn't inspired by Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles, and one particular song within. . . Jackass Jackass. But I didn't look back at it too closely, because I didn't want to merely paraphrase.

Name of the Wind is a pretty awesome book. I wouldn't slobber all over it in praise but it's one of the few fantasy series these days I still enjoy.

The interlude has a purpose; it marks the end of Act I, as it were. And yes, I'm using a loose sense of a three act structure. Do we have a long way to go? Oh yes. But there's an end in sight.

There are other reasons, too, but it would be improper for me to babble about my thought process at this point.

I'm really kicking myself here, but. DoD is going to be a little late this week.

1) I'm visiting my family, who I rarely see anymore, and spending time with them is acceptably cutting my writing time down by a ton. I'll be flying back soon which adds even less time to really get things polished, but until then, I'd like to spend what time I can with these folks.

Hahaha, that is, my newest fic. As promised. Wow, that went up a lot faster than I am used to.

It's been a long, long time since I've written anything of significant length, and I'm somewhat nervous about this one. . . I also had no idea that the title was similar to one of GRRM's up and coming works. Pure coincidence! I think the only thing I want to take away from his works is that multiple POVs can be fun and tell a broader story.
