I'm To Blame, But It's My Fault

(finished story)

Anyponys time on earth is very precious, especially so in a time of war. At any second it could come to an end leaving only a memory and those they touched behind. Two friends, soldiers of the air, deal with the loss of a dear friend. They both carry the pain, believing the fault and blame is each their own, to bear alone.

Be sure to check back frequently for the next installment in "The Price of Duty" story series

The second part of this story will be ready to post by mid next week. I am currently working on proof reading it and making adjustments to its structure and flow.

I did however finish the art for the second part and will be posting that latter on tonight on my Deviant Art profile.

I am in love with this so far. Far too few stories out there like this. Please, keep up the great writing!

Thanks SolidFire, I appreciate the compliment.

This story is just part of an entire universe in which I have plots for stories that encompass every main character as well as most of the background characters. When done it should represent and intricately intertwined universe where every question you will ever have about a character or event will be answered. It might only be answered however by reading several other characters stories so you can piece together an event that isn't outright explained by any one individual story.

I really enjoyed this. I'm looking forward to more. I'm considering following you just so I can see when the next one's out.

I found that this story was actually quite original. It's short, but it's pretty powerful. Not much people completely earn my like, and I sometimes really randomly bomb the front page with upvotes. You've done enough to actually deserve my like and favorite.

Looking forward to more.

Thank you, I appreciate the comments/ compliments. This is the first story in a series of stories telling the tales of various characters. Stories can occur over the course of an afternoon such as this one, or over the course of several years like in my next installment and each one will vary in length based on how much it takes to tell what ever story I have dreamed up. They also all occur in the same universe and all are in some way shape or form linked together. Sometimes they will be obvious links, and others will be very subtle and you need to search for (those links however will not be essential story elements but more or less fun little "aha" moments hidden in the stories)

It is also designed to leave the reader with questions at the end and also encourage them to research things like what the term WAC means or what exactly happened in the summer of 1940 and then subsequently in late 1952 with Bell aircraft.

However with each installment many questions from previous stories will be answered, for example eventually Scootaloos involvement will be explained as will what happened the RD and why Spitfire and Lightning are so devastated, but for now it remains a mystery :pinkiehappy:

So are you actually military? If so, are you out-of-country?

No Im not actually military, I have not had the privilege of serving in our armed forces. I am however a Marine Corps Living History reenactor/ historian, my profile picture is from a Vietnam display the traveling museum I co-founded did awhile back.

I'm curious as to why you ask if I'm military though?

2742698 I'm looking towards a job in the military. Army Rangers, to be exact.

This story is excellent so far and I really enjoyed reading this first chapter!

What did you think about the Epilogue for this portion of the story?
