Dear Princess Celestia,
It has been some time since I wrote you. I imagine you did not expect to ever hear from me again.
Much has changed since the last time we spoke. I have changed. I wonder—will you recognize me, next we meet? Will you recoil? Perhaps, yourself eternal, you are used to others changing around you.
You lied to me, Celestia. You called me your faithful student. You told me you would always be there for me. I’m not sure I can forgive you for that, but I understand why you did it. I know what you were trying to protect me from.
I’m rambling now. I suppose I owe you some explanation of where I have been all this time.
When I was a foal and asked you why you took me as a student, you told me that I was going to change the world, that I was destined to do great things.
You were right.

This story would have been impossible were it not for the support of the brony community and, of course, the power of friendship.
All art for the story is by Kuda, who is as gifted as he was good at keeping spoilers off his DA gallery.
My primary editor is Pav Feira, known to the bronies of FiMFiction as the Batpav. After his parents were killed by a double-space, he dedicated his life to striking fear into the cowardly writing element using his utility belt full of pony GIFs.
All chapters were prepared for publication by Pascoite, who gained his immense powers of editing from Earth's yellow sun after his parents sent him here from a distant star because he kept them up all night.
Assistance with storyboarding and character design came from Ether Echoes, best known for inventing the miniaturized Fave Reactor that transforms story likes directly into the energy that powers his super suit.
Secondary editing was provided by Warmblood and A Dragon Dreaming, whose powers involve mostly shouting "Wonder twin powers activate!" and being ambiguously incestuous.
Somehow, I see great things will come in my way during the reading.
Tally Ho!
You know for a second there I thought the big daddy's air tank was a top hat.
Twilight is Jack Ryan?!
Aaaaand it begins!
So, the cover image appears to display Sweetie Belle with Glowing Red Eyes on some sort of automaton that looks like someone took the front of a train, gave it a bunch of glowing green eyes/flashlights, armed it with a drill and put it on legs.
...
Okay, you have my curiosity.
The storyheroes seem nice.
3726774 Yes, yes she is.
Okay, so I get about a hundred words into the story, and I get a face full of acknowledgements. How enticing.

I had to give thanks for what you are about to receive!

Understandable, and easily dismissable after a 2-5 thousand word chapter, but you put if after one-hundred and sixty-one words! Putting nonfiction in fiction breaks flow, that's why the acknowledgments page always comes at the end of a novel. I was all set for a power-reading session, but after the first "chapter," that little expository passage acted like a speed bump: negating what little momentum your story had garnered.
My thought process whilst reading the first chapter was thus: "Oooh, this looks really interesting. Oh hey! A lot of renowned authors I've heard of worked on this! Oh hey! I wonder if the new episode of RWBY is on yet. I'll just open another tab . . . "
It's the same reason that I abhor lengthy author notes in between chapters. But I digress, I like to commentate on each chapter as I read them, so I only read when I have time to do so. I'm very much looking forward to what you have in store.
My expectations are as high as the recommendations. They have let me down before, and I always expect to be let down again. Are you an Author, or are you a Pretender? We shall see, Jaxie. Oh yes, we shall see.
Just me channeling my inner Andrew Ryan, which I may do quite a bit, for it amuses me. I'm always hesitant about crossovers, but for once we have one where I know the source material extremely well, so I can approach it with a more... 'refined' eye. Let us see how this goes, shall we?
Fly fly, little moth.
That prolouge!
Beep boop, recommended here via a Sweet little pony, Wandering the web.
Like some of the rest of you here, I too would not have high expectations of a story with less than 1k likes, but, I will make an exception for the recommender, since he has arguably been here from the start, and in my opinion, had a "classical" taste for stpries on this site if it's age is of any indication.
Out from the shadows, and thrust towards the light! From the black depths of the forgotten, this story has been ressurected through the eyes of another!
