May 2, 1945 – Soviet soldiers raise the USSR flag over Berlin while Cloudkicker Rainbow Dash looks on.
As the final weeks of the war played out, many pegasi expressed a desire to fly to Berlin and witness the end of the Reich for themselves. Eisenhower flatly refused. With Germany dying, antagonism was looming between the Western and Soviet Allies. Allowing pegasi into the Soviet occupation zone seemed a recipe for disaster. When the issue was pressed, he gave a direct command for them to remain within the Western zones.
A few squadrons of pegasi claimed ignorance of his order and flew to Berlin as the last battle began. Fortunately for all involved, Eisenhower’s fear of hostility with the Soviets proved unfounded. Red Army soldiers were delighted at the sight of the pegasi – they were symbols of victory, of the hated Nazis finally being crushed between the Allied armies. Pegasi who landed in Russian camps were welcomed, and feathers they dropped were snatched up as good luck charms.
Rainbow Dash (the ringleader of the unauthorized “excursion”) led the Cloudkicker band in several recon and rescue missions in support of the Soviet attack. Until the very end, the Germans fought back with desperate ferocity. The final battle was marred with atrocities by both sides against each other and against the civilians, leading most of the pegasi to leave in disgust before its conclusion.
The photo was taken on the day Berlin fell. Five days later, on May 7, 1945, the Third Reich of Germany gave its unconditional surrender.
When asked why she remained in Berlin to the end, Rainbow said, “The end of a nightmare is the worst part of it, the part that makes you wake up with a scream. I knew this wasn’t going to be any better. The Nazis’ last stand wasn’t going to be pretty. And you know what? I didn’t have a great reason for going. I watched their last stand…because I wanted to watch them fall.”
the Nazi's deserved the atrocities that happened to them especially the ones that did those horrible things to the pegasi's wings they should have the bones in there hands painfully removed see how they like having one of the most important part of themselves taken from them

If you truly believe that the atrocities committed to the German people were well deserved, you are no better than the Nazis. Many of the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime were kept secret from both the German citizens and the Allied powers. The Allies actually didn't know about the concentration camps beyond a few rumors and hearsay until Patton's army literally stumbled across them. The ethnic cleansing was kept almost exclusively in the hands of the SS, and Heinrich Himmler was so paranoid about anyone usurping his position that most of the regular Wehrmacht had no idea what the SS was doing, except for (again) rumors and hearsay. If other branches of their own military had no idea, the average citizen was completely ignorant. Granted, most of them didn't care what was happening to the Jews, but all they knew is that they were being taken away. Most assumed they were being sent to Palestine or some other country. The Wehrmacht did commit war crimes, such as executing surrendering soldiers and specifically targeting civilian areas on bombing raids (under orders, they say) but they were not directly involved in the Holocaust. That was kept almost exclusively in the hands of the SS. Some people even believe that Hitler wasn't fully aware of exactly what they were doing in these camps. Either way, the average citizen was ignorant and therefore innocent. I'm not excusing the actions of the Nazis, but place the blame on the Nazis and the SS where it belongs, not on the German People as a whole.
One last thing, love and tolerance. What happened to yours. :(
3016550 i was placing the blame on the Nazis and the SS i didn't mean to make it sound like i wanted bad things to happen to the German civilians i just wanted the really bad things to happen to the Nazis and the SS especially after i read what they where doing to unicorns that was horrible but at least unicorn horns grow back. But reading that they remove some of the bones in pegasi's wings usually on the field with knives and no anesthesia so they can never fly again was truly horrific its the guys who where doing that who i think should have the bones in there hands removed in the same way see how they like losing one of the the most important part of themseleves

3016628 whatever it takes as long as the Nazis and SS payed for the horrific mutilations they did to the ponies
3016643 Congratulations! Now you understand how the Nazis think.
The German Empire has fallen, the shadow that covered Europe for six years, dissolved. The enslaved are set free and the children awake to a new dawn for the world.
Now, will Equestria take a stand against Japan?
One of the pictures has worked! Not sure why it's just this chapter.

Wrong the Wehrmacht knew about the Holocaust. In fact out East, the SS was greatly helped by the Wehrmacht in their mass murder campaign of the Summer of 1941. You are just stating the old Clean Wehrmacht myth which most serious historians have long since debunked.
