You do realize that the zebras are no better than those caribou right? I'm just saying because I've seen a lot of stories that involved Zecora's kind and they're not like those zebras. And I bet that Twilight didn't even like the guy because of his bad personality.
11719763 This isn't a zebradom or Equestria conquered story. There will be no rapes or forced breeding programs designed to breed out the ponies. This will focus on Twilight acclimating to a country that is exotic to her, Twilight learning to love her arranged husband, political intrigue, some violence and evil creatures lurking in the shadows.
11712687 Totally agree with that friend I can accept that their militia is weak or poorly prepared (I don't think it's necessary to give examples of why I think so) but it should be enough for an alicorn to head to the border, deploy some spells, say a speech and that would be more than enough to terrify anyone, damn it, I think I might even start a cult in his name in the enemy country by accident or it might ask to be a vassal country.
Interesting happenings indeed. Some dark ones lurking around ("Bye bye petal",. Just had to quote a certain Hag), and some relationship advice, along with some interesting traditions mentioned...
11713264 For seemingly "overpowered goddesses", alicorns spend majority of their time being defeated and needing in saving in the actual canon series, and a group of unicorns in the past were able to move sun and moon, suggesting that it isn't something that hard that only "gods" were capable of doing it. I see "helpless Equestria" as pretty much almost canon, considering how often only elements of harmony were able to save it, with even celestia and luna being helpless to overcome some threats, and that's without even mentioning how easily defeated their guards and wonderbolts are.
i'm glad you added the authors note. it's nice to see a zebra story that isn't so stereotyped. was a time i thought of going for a similar cultural diversity. fortunately i woke up and remembered how bad i suck at writing stories. thanks for going in a better direction. you got a new fan. i'm looking forward to the next chapter already.
