I am guessing that all this Aphrodite stuff means he and twilight were meant for each other and my guess Celestia is going find out that twilight was the enemy all along and trying to avoid the prophecy that she couldn't fully remember she ran into it. That is a common problem in stories after. Doom and gloom prophecy comes and they try to avoid it only to set it in motion.

And wouldn't that be ironic if by keeping Twilight away from Tangent\Tanna, Celestia has bought about the very prophesy that she was attempting to prevent!
Or did I say something to that idea before? I forget...
Hey, eiggengrau! Initially, I had this image at the beginning of your story that Tangent's modern society had gone beyond the notion of religion. Or are you bringing back the philosophical notion of using "religion as a salve to heal and calm the masses" bs? It has been so long since I read anything that heavy. Not since I was back in school was I into that sort of crap, and I am getting up there in age, so my mental faculties are starting to dim...

I don't think so . But it would certainly serve Celestia right for butting into other people's lives on a hunch. She doesn't even fully remember the prophecy and for some reason won't look it considering someone must have written the stupid thing down somewhere. Something as important as that had to be written down.

Welllll, in any universe where magic is real, some form of faith must be real, too. Right?
Unless you're doing Science Magic[tm], which i am arguably not. (If you want magic as science, i cannot recommend too highly Days of Wasp and Spider, which is a epic tour-de-bucking-force of Science Magic. Just thinking about it is giving me shivers; if i start re-re-reading it today, my next few chapters might be delayed; nopony will mind that, will they?)

You would certainly hope so, since according to the show, the monarchy of Equestria has been supposedly run efficiently enough for over a thousand years, with Celestia the sole ruler. So somewhere there should exist an extant copy of said prophesy, buried within the castle library, which we know through Twilight, was quite an extensive library of Equestrian history. It is up to Celestia herself to search for a copy of that prophesy, although she doesn't seem to care about it enough. She seems to be worried more that Twilight might become her own pony...

Would serve her right! Twilight is not her child and she had no right to make a decision about her health care unless it was life and death and this wasn't. She had plenty of time to talk with the parents about her idea. No wonder Twilight seems to lack empathy at times her emotional growth was stunted by the meds where normally she would have learned about relationships and maybe come to the magic of friendship sooner because nothing heals a broken heart like friendship. And I highly doubt the first guy she would have met back then would be Mr right.

That thought is terrifying enough. Equestria is truly a mageocracy, not merely a common monarchy. That alone has its terrifying implications. even if a "benevolent" rule as the canon shows. That the true power lies in the hoofs of just a few ponies (alicorns) has its own bad vibes, politically speaking. I am no fan of some society of "Science as magic" bs. Either or should be the template, not both.
I get a chuckle of some of these drawings of equating Starlight Glimmer to communist Russia. Shoot, a better thing to make that comparison is with Celestia and Luna, not Starlight.

I do like your logic. Okay, I'm a guy, so my logic is male-based. Yours are because you are thinking like a woman, and I think to leave it at that before I stick hoof in mouth any further than it already is.
We all see this story in our own lens, granted. Shall we just let it play out before we embark on a long Discord discussion?

Oh, most definitely about finding Mr, Right on the first try, btw. Twilight even tried to push Tangent away at first, seeking merely sex from him without any emotions or commitments. It was only the fact that Tangent himself had a guy-crush on Twilight as a story character which led to both of them forming a relationship.

Would you want to your kids being given meds without having any knowledge of it. We adults hear all the time why doctors are so careful about medicine and not a single fan would want that for twilight much their children. That's why I am mad Celestia for making a decision like without talking with the parents. Twilight parents lived in canterlot it would have taken no time to talk with them about the problem and solution.

It might have been destiny but who knows. The fact is she was so sex crazy at that point all she could think about was that. She probably in time with his help might have recovered but we all know how that went. And her friends aren't helping because they don't want to Celestia off her pedestal even though they can see twilight is hurting and not herself.

As I said, I find your logic unimpeachable. Yeah, while you do seem to be stuck on the Celestia-is-a-bad-person thing, I myself care about Twilight and her relationship with Tangent. Honestly, Celestia's rather rude abuse of Twilight's person is indeed something to be ashamed of, yet it proved to be the springboard for Twilight to go seeking another, even if merely physical. Celestia is but just a plot device here, nothing more. No harm, no foul. True, she could have spoken to Twilight's parents. I have no problem about agreeing there. But, come on. Celestia IS a monarch, and something that small to her could easily pass by without any thought whatsoever, as indeed the author did mention in an earlier chapter.

Yes but she finds the time to be a teacher as well so what was sending out a message on what she planned for the foals under her care. It would have taken no time for a servant to write a few letters to the parents of the foals and then twilight might have not gotten that bad. Celestia is more interested in what she thinks is best and doesn't really think there might be other points of view.
