The writing was wonderful but the premise just induces an indescribable loathing within me. I have a primal and visceral hatred for this particular kind of mind manipulation and intentional forced gender swaps like this.
But the writing is wonderful, so upvote despite the uncomfortable twisting in my gut. *Shivers* Ugh

Same. This feels like Sweetie didn't even know the full implications of what she was doing considering she literally has overwritten the mind and body of someone. In essence, she killed them by replacing them with another. Seems like pretty dark magic to me. If she did know what she was doing in full, then she's really fucked up. I kinda hate stories like this for the plot of them but this one is written well, so at least there's that.
10366694 I was pretty explicit in the spell not having overwritten but rather overlaid. Oh well. I honestly didn't expect this to get much attention—wrote it in an hour as a warm up for my normal writing.

She said that getting emotional would bring out Smoulder's personality, so it's clear she knows the effects of the spell and has likely used it before, He is still in there. God, messing with a persons' identity and very being like that is just beyond messed up.
I don't know about you but the fact that she acknowledges, and verifies that his ... (was it friendliness? Or personality, behaviour? One of them) is perfectly normal for a human, then decides to turn him into Smoulder anyway is even more messed up. She's basically saying that being human isn't good enough for the school of friendship. I literally just realized that's, actual speciesism. The alien doesn't meet your standard so mutate it into something that does.
It still twists my gut I swear.

It's definitely a nice warmup piece for sure. Throwing together a quick oneshot that flows nicely takes lots of practice, so it's also a good thing TO practice.

And here we see the end result of Sweetie Belle working for Starlight Glimmer: Disturbing violations of mind and body in the name of of helping someone be the best version of themselves they can be. Which, in this case, means learning how to be the best version of someone else for a bit. I can only imagine what Smolder herself will think of this. All told, this makes a distressing amount of sense. Well done.
