First contact has been made, successfully, and the strange equine creature known as Twilight Sparkle had assured us that we would be welcome to cement relations with Earth with an embassy in Canterlot.

Whoops.
As soon as the age difference was brought up, I knew this was coming.
The imagery this chapter was hilarious. I just keep thinking of two sleepy little foals strutting around, carrying rifles that weigh half as much as they do.
And no wonder Hollings felt amazing, he literally had the body of a teenager again!
Well now, I guess Sparkles missed something!
I’m glad to see somebody else takes on the concept of the fact that we don’t know the lifecycle of the ponies like My Life-as a Bipedal Quadruped author thought up. In that 32 in pony years may be different than human years and also makes the ~64 candles on RD’s B-Day cake make more sense
Also, interesting how, if a human becomes a pegasus, the arms turn into the wings, instead of the front hooves and the wings being completely new limbs.
9797416 It's a TF trope I've been poking at a little lately, and even a few artists have been poking at it with me. When you look at how pegasi use their wings, they often use them as hands/fingers, and I thought this was just something very unique to do.
Well, this (presumably) answers my previous question about Captain Hollings. For the Equestrians: how do you feel that the colts probably have 30 years of active combat experience between them?
Well at least this is a simple enough fix, just head on down to the VA and find some guys from 'nam who wouldn't mind another tour.

Plus do you know how much people will pay to have almost 4 times as much lifespan. I mean think of retiring then being able to restart life at human prime with all the knowledge and wisdom of old age. That alone will most likely the first thing exported from earth.
Ah, the lifespan issue. Direct translation, not proportional. Now I find myself imagining Twilight's reaction to the EqG world. "You're only sixteen?"
... Wait, how does that effect Sunset's overall lifespan?![:twilightoops:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightoops.png)
In any case, as far as hiccups go, it could at least theoretically be worse. Throw in some random gender swaps, as an example. I'm sure they'll acclimate soon enough, even if it's going to be more than a bit awkward.

Unfortunately, like with other stories that have done this, this makes the whole EQG timeline ten kinds of f
cked. You either need to introduce temporal shenanigans to justify the time difference or twist the reality of the EQG world like a pretzel.

The key is to remember that the portal between Equestria and Earth is not doing the same things as the one between Equestria Girls and Equestria.
9797607
My comment has less to do with what the portal is doing, than when the portal is doing it.
Twilight was a foal when she became Celestia's student. Which means it couldn't reasonably have been less than 15 years (more likely 30+) since Sunset Shimmer left, given how long it takes ponies to grow up. Which means there must be some temporal trickery going on to explain why Sunset is still in high school.
9797623
Either that or the portal "humans" are as long-lived as elves, so no one ever noticed a difference.
9797623 Given that about 5 seasons happened between start of S4 (when Twilight first went to Equestria Girls) and modern periods of Equestria Girls, and they said at camp Everfree that "it's been less than a year", most people generally accept there is time-slip.
9797645
Honestly, it's hard to reconcile the MLP timeline with itself, much less Equestria Girls. At the very least, you have to accept that the episodes within each season aren't in chronological order, otherwise the first season becomes a contradictory mess.
I think a reasonable assumption is that each season of the show takes place over 3-4 months, which would make the fixed-time events make sense (Summer Sun Celebration, Grand Galloping Gala, etc.) and line up fairly well with the EQG timeline, and you're just not supposed to think about how many times Winter and Friends come around. Otherwise, you pretty much have to adopt the long-lived pony theory to explain why nobody is growing up.
This is such a cool story! Finally a new story to bring something new to the HIE them! I am definitely favoriting this story! Keep you the good work!

Its been a while since I've watch any of the series but didnt Granny Smith confirm that ponies basically live 300+ years in the founding of Ponyville episode?
9798457
Not exactly. In Winter Wrap Up, Twilight says that it has been a Ponyville tradition for hundreds of years, and in Family Appreciation Day, Granny Smith says she was one of the founding settlers of Ponyville. When you put the two together, it implies Granny Smith is at least well into her second century.
However, I don't think anyone believes that the writers intended that. A more likely in-universe explanation is that Twilight misspoke. Still, it's a fun idea to write around.

Im just wondering how the TEENAGER will handle.... tumescence in a society of nudists.
You know? Some people might consider a chance to re-live your teenage years a wish comes true.
9798498
Well, "being effectively de-aged enough to make it irrelevant" is a start...
9797351
Except it's been trotted out as one of the reasons for the AU tag, and the other reasons aren't any better. (To Damaged: I'm going to keep haranguing you on this until the tag is either removed or justified.)
9801322 Okay. You'll notice that in the show, Princess Celestia has been stated to have been ruling Equestria for 1111 years. In this, she's been ruling for a little over 30,000 years.
And I feel vindicated on calling them cunts, because of course there would be q damn drawback. And then saying to Saffron "You signed up for this" just enrages me. He didn't sign up for anything, he already said no and you told him he isn't allowed to say no, then bribed him. Doesn't make up for it at all. What pisses me off the most of all is the fact rhat they did this and aren't fucking sorry for it AT ALL and treat it like its nothing.
Normally I'd be quite enthusiastic about this fic, but with how it seems Saffron is constantly getting screwed over I can't muster a reaction other than anger. Still a good story though.

Equestria Girls in general makes little sense when you start analysing it more closely. Like how Sunset in the first movie managed to:
Even more so than FiM, Equestria Girls sometimes just requires you to smile and nod and enjoy the ride.
To be perfectly honest I was half expecting Saffron to become a mare xD
9862202 Heh. Nah. That's for another fic.![:rainbowlaugh:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowlaugh.png)
Two-toed ungulates have two toes per hoof, not split hooves.
Think like deer.
9962660 If you look at the first chapter again, I'm actually using this picture as a basis for pony forms. Mostly because I love Dana's art, but also because I love mixing things up. I also love Dana's art.

So unicorns and alicorns have the classical unicorn look.
And Starlight messes up once more, not too surprised about that.
Pinkie in a room full of introverted, hardened soldiers is just asking for trouble.
I like your descriptions of the various looks of the pony tribes. The split hooves of the unicorns makes me think their ancestors lived in much more mountainous regions where having said hooves would allow them to better grip the narrow cliffs and steep grades. The leonid tails kinda makes me scratch my head a bit, though the earth ponies and pegasi might have the same tails as the unicorns, it's just they have more hair on their tails and might explain why all ponies have partially prehensile tails.
The age translation aspect of this story is kind of dumb. It would make a lot more sense for the physical maturity of the humans coming over to be the basis of their form and then they just age much slower in Equestria, rather than the pure numbers of years lived.
The logical conclusion of this is that any pony older than 100 who transforms into a human will just die immediately, no matter how perfect their health might be, or probably even how immortal they are.

I at least hope that someone pre-warned Pinkie to NOT bring the party cannon--
Mixing Marines with loaded artillery ordinance pointed at them DOES NOT END WELL for the ones bringing the artillery!!
