So...I just clicked through like a bunch of "this is a sequel of" links to get to this. Are they all actually connected or are they just separate stories?

They all happen in the same universe and have a chronological order. It’s just each fic has a different fetish and different group of characters in the spotlight.
Example 1: in one fic Twilight and Tempest do the fun. Later on they develop a relationship. Also every 5th fic is a game changer and marks the end of the current Series and is usually the result of the previous 4 fics.
Example 2: one fic may have Rarity and Fluttershy and the next may have Rainbow Dash and Applejack.
