Spartan III

I was a Halo fan but now a hardcore Warframe nerd.

warframe is my life. please don't mess this up or abandon it.

Could work. Doubt it will. Saw a number of other xovers, none good yet.

Warframe has interesting Mythos at least.
Vic'Tik'Vil - Good luck!

Hmmmmm.......Seems like an interesting premise. Bears watching. No early lunch for konzu if this goes bad, so good luck tenno.

You've gained my interest, fellow Tenno.

I like the premises, but I suggest don't make your Tenno to strong or a Mary Sue or it'll take away from the story. Either way you have my interest.

I would appreciate it if you could give me some details on things that you dislike so hopefully I can make the story better.

It would be very difficult to not make the Tenno overpowered compared to everything in the mlp verse. A single Warframe could curb stomp 99% of the setting with ease. An operator alone could still do a ton of damage too, and the Tenno are nigh unkillable without destroying their oro (the soul of the Tenno).

The Tenno, Operator is VERY op to begin with. HOWEVER: You may only pick one School from here on, otherwise that op would turn into trash op character.

Also, I hope you spoke or at least asked MadMax for his character.

If you do both of those I'll keep reading.

Don't know why so many people can't stand overpowered MC, just make the adversary more op to balance things out.

I say do what you want I'll be reading this either way.

You don't need to specifically balance the operative to not be op, just put them into situations where they can't solve everything by murdering everyone. Things like bribing back intelligence to humans or other political issues.

Or have the Tenno be a background character and shoe everyone else reacting to the child murder hobo that would more likely than not be Uber pissed at humans being reduced to drooling invalids.

Even mastering every School won't save her from what she has to go
up against

Edit:

I think what I'm saying is coming out wrong?

So in Warframe, as an operator, you can only have ONE SCHOOL on at a time. And would it be a little too much to ask if you asked Madmax for his character use? Not that you have to, but knowing that you had permission to change his character, a favorite of mine among fimfiction fanfics. Otherwise, I don't think I could read it without knowing that everything was kosher and not stupid OP.

plz don't ruin this. You're tracking on a fine line when it comes to Xovers. Warframe is already meant to feel op. You have an operator so even still some crazy shit can happen. You have a chance to keep this from falling apart.

Thank you good sir for your interest. And I think what I said came out wrong as well, I did not intend for her to learn multiple schools. What I meant was that even if she acquired more powers than she already had, it won't mater considering what she has to face in the future.

As for MadMax's character, I've already put a request on his front page following your suggestion. You can check it out for more details, like why i chose the character and what my intentions are for Max.

My mind set going in to this can be summed up as follow.

When you're small and weak, the tides of life will sweep you along. But when you've became larger than anything life could throw at you, the world revolves around you now.

I haven't read it yet, not until it has a few more chapters, but given how many stories are at risk of failing, I feel the need to give advice

The standard, if not totally accurate advice, is to make sure that your protagonist is challenged, fails early, grows in skill (and maybe power), and conflict occurs. If you make a powerful protagonist, the opposition, whether political/social, or physical, must be more powerful still, such that the protagonist struggles to overcome them.

The premise of YHAY is the everyman, with basic human capabilities ends up in Equestria, with no social standing, and physically inferior to almost every other person(Pony)

A Tenno is extremely powerful, so is risky. They are not something that would be seen as human, and might not even know they are human (depending on where in the timeline they are) Until that quest, I thought they were some kind of AI, using dimensional physics or magic or something. Only learned the lore later, via quest.

That said, if a warframe is destroyed, does she have a backup? does she have the ability to create new ones? new weapons? If not, that could be problematic.

And, probably most importantly, what kind of power level did you give her compared to Equestrian Soldiers, Elites (Shining armor and similar) Alicorns, and similar epic tier entities?

I really appreciate your advice. The fact that you care enough to write an essay detailing your opinions and worries for my project makes me happy.

Yes, you are correct about the premise of YHAY, but it is only one in many. I think using Reverse Expectation is also a fascinating way to explore a character in this universe.

With that said, I suggest that you read the first chapter. It doesn't contain any major plot point, only a brief introduction to the MC (Maybe I should rename it to a prologue). If you don't like it, you won't have to wait for more chapters. In the small chance that that it piques your interest, I'll have to work even harder.

One last point to make, when you brought up the qualities of an antagonist, you failed to mention what is known as a mental struggle (hint hint).

Thank you:pinkiehappy:

Hmm. Mental struggle works too. Forgot that one. Conflict with people, organizations: physical or social. Conflict woth the environment, or animals. Man vs nature type.
And struggle with oneself. Self control, delusions, dismorphia, or even geas'

This story jumped to mind as a mental struggle. Guy suffered from extreme hallucinations before, and doesn't know if he is hallucinating now or not.
Improbable Truth

-- looks ok so far. A lot of grammer errors, especially tenses. Its late tonight, will try and give feedback tomorrow.

Being just the operator, with no warframe, they are not the most durable entity around. That was my experience in the game anyhow. Phase shifting and phase dashing, along with void attacks.

This is awesome it’s like reading from a well renowned author, wish I taken literature and writhing 😃
