The Elements of Harmony are the most powerful weapon against all evil in Equestria -- much to the dismay of Nightmare Moon, Discord and Queen Chrysalis.
But these ancient and timeless evils will not be defeated so easily. In their secret academy they decide to work together for the first time since the dawn of time -- their master plan demands that the mane six be defeated and the Elements destroyed.
But are their plans truly evil? What if evil had a face under the mask, a hidden agenda that was a lesser evil in its own right?

Quite a good start. I'm interested to see both the characters that will be the Elements of Disharmony, and how it creates the necessary balance in Equestria.
You do realize that the only reason that Discord was so easy to defeat was because he was so weak, right? He was trapped in stone for over ten-thousand YEARS, that HAD to take a toll on his power. Discord was only free for less than twenty-four hours, so his power didn't have time to come back. If he kept himself hidden (whether anyone knew he was free or not) and waited about a full week before striking, I'd say his power levels would have risen to the point where a simple memory spell wouldn't fix the mane six, he didn't expect them to be that strong, so he acted a bit rash. If he knew how strong they were and waited to regain his strength, then he'd have won hands down, no exceptions. Also, he never HAD to give the ponies their wings/horns back, he was being a good sport, he gave them a chance to fight back because he isn't THAT evil.
Not a bad idea for a fic, but I'm just saying that in truth, Discord doesn't need help, he can handle the mane six on his own.

I'd like to also point out that he was powerless agaisnt the Elements the first time around -- whatever be the case, be it his personality or the power he wields itself, he is unable to do it by himself

1003291 Yeah, but also, the reason he was defeated the second time was because he let his guard down thinking the elements would have no effect (like the first time the mane six tried) and when it turned out that it DID work, it was too late to get away. If Discord had a bit more foresight, he'd be REALLY hard to beat.
But yeah, just saying that unless you seriously nerfed Discord in this universe, he'd be fine on his own, he just lacks a bit of strategy. I'd be MORE than willing to help Discord, because aside from being an awesome antagonist, chaos IS a wonderful thing. He's just making things abnormal, and abnormality is a GOOD thing, if everyone thought and did the exact same things, we'd have NEVER invented anything. It's the weird people who come up with ideas to improve. Thank you chaos, you gave us the wheel.
