Sweet, I am ready for year 3.

Just a heads up, new chapters show up in the tracker when they are uploaded not when you make them visible. So I have the story showing up in my tracker as being added on Saturday but the first 2 chapters show as being added on Friday. Not a big deal at the moment but could be a problem in the future.

Hmm, first time using the site to publish just a chapter at a time. I wonder if it would work better if I just make a new chapter, paste the finished chapter in, and then publish that one.

From what I understand, if you want the story to show up on the front page and in people's trackers the best thing to do is to wait until you're ready for people to see the chapter before uploading to the site rather than uploading them ahead of time.

I like that there can be moments where Spoiled can be reasonable instead of being the irrational bitch she's often portrayed as.

Something tells me that this is going to go as well as making a house out of glass as far as Sunset is concerned, unless there is a big heavy AU in this setting.

Gotta love an extra long chapter. Just when you thought these might be nice diamond dogs...

i don't like where this is going

I draw a bit from the comics as far as Sunset is concerned; she has to wind up... well, you probably know.

9074561
dark magic on a foal is not a smart thing at least wait until she gets her first heat

Oh no! Poor rainbow dash!

Yikes, Sunset you are gonna face a punishment far worse than simply being dismissed as Celestia's student.

Another excellent installment, I eagerly await year four.

Excellent job. Keep up the good work.

I have to know is Doug whereing cloths, because in one chapter Applejack said that he doesn't where pants so I think shorts, then in another chapter Scootaloo sees his nipple and thinks 'milk'. So yeah maybe I missed something but it's been bothering me, and I'm sure that there was something said to Rarity about humans always wereing clothes, also doing the number thing was the only way I was fairly sure you would see it and am not sure if the site notifies the writer when ever there is a comment on a story or blog or if it did you would have it turned off.

Your doing good work can't wait to catch up to the latest in the story. :pinkiehappy::twilightsmile:

At the end of the first book Rarity makes Doug what is essentially a bathrobe, for wearing around the house during winter. He also has a few sets of work gear, mostly boots and gloves, and a set of winter clothing (jacket, pants, boots, gloves, hat) that he only wears if he is working outside during winter. Otherwise, wears nothing. Mostly to fit in, since during day one Applejack didn't really react or comment.

I actually get two notifications, one that you replied to my story and one that you replied to my comment. I can probably change that, but those are my settings.

what did sunset do to rainbow

oh alright I see where these epiloges are going very clever sir

So in comes Winona, Gummy and Opalescence

Would it be fine if Tank comes early? Heck, where's Angel?

So we're all just skip on by that our boy managed to perform before an non-intimate audience? And it seems Shining had caught Cadance's eye but that side chapter of that de-classified file under his name makes me worried, not to mention how that professor pseudo-Snape has duped Sunset into considering dark magic in future experiments.

9142810
I deliberate don't focus on those portions during this part; if/when I end up getting around to it on BCD there will definitely be a little bit of performance anxiety; on the other hand, he's been with up to four mares for a while now.

I love reading your comments and wanting to respond, but knowing that in a few chapters (or sometimes books) all will be explained. Other times it is a pretty big, 'ooh, I need to consider that!' and adding in a chapter or couple paragraphs. I mean, Shining Armor had to have a job before he was Captain, right?

9142824
Back in book two on the report, it states he's a lieutenant, it didn't state which branch or office he was currently in but one would've thought a report that is a direct missive to their Princess, is in fact a confidential document that is a bit above his security clearance. That in itself implies that if it wasn't within reach, it brings to question why he needed to enact that "The Sun Shines on All of Us Act" to get it. The document is clearly from Agent Sweetie Drops' report transcribed into a mission debrief, meaning it is to be on file for the Monster Hunting Agency or of Celestia's personal files. Barring the route of going through Celestia's files and leave an immediate paper trail from his inquiry, initiating that act means he specifically targeted info to use, such as beings of interest, and strong armed his way through the agency for that info. I'm only concerned because in this AU of herds, and the actual throwing of influential weight herds do with status, I cannot help but worry that the Shining of this AU is no different and a product of this world's society.

9142868
I see it as the reverse; he is the officer that is in charge of this 'investigation' into the strange being that showed up, he subcontracted to the Monster Hunters, and has the onerous task of going through the files that they sent back and declassifying them. The ponies (in all honesty, probably their neighboring ambassadors) instated the act to curb Celestia's power, by forcing her to declassify and release these papers. Freedom of Information Act, but without the need for someone to specifically request it.

9142924
So this is out of story lore to how foreign and domestic interests have forced transparency? And a file that would've gone to her anyway was procured in such a matter by outside parties from within and without, to learn about Doug.

This also implies that Celestia's secret rendezvouses have been predicted by some houses that have been deeply involved in The Game, to join either Princesses' herds. Doug may very well be a target, since the idea of some nobody herd out in the sticks can claim or sire for either Princess from under them, will not be tolerated.

Miss Cheerilee watches, enraptured by the way his hands hoofed - or would you say handled - the cards, mixing their order much faster than her method of swirling them around in a pile for a while. It is also fascinating to watch, as he deals each pony and himself ten cards, leaving the last two in the middle. What it would feel like to have those hands on her coat...

Oh you lady killer, you're walking sin, you know that? :ajsmug:

Such a reversal of fates in terms of pets, and Doug just got himself some free protein

Well, things aren't gonna go well...

So she's aware of the mirror and it's already her go to contingency of escape. Really Celestia, Doug is now your emergency anchor if Sunset continues to rebel? Yeesh

The idea that Spoiled was actually a high level tsundere this whole time, terrifies me. And she raunchy as fuck

"What, none of them have given you a hoof job?" Spoiled Rich smirks as Doug's eyes go wide and glances at Rarity. The unicorn looks back at him, shrugging her shoulders, the two looking back at Spoiled Rich. She takes her glass of juice, "Well, you should try it some time, Filthy really likes it." She takes a drink, putting the glass back on the table as a mortified Cheerilee begins dealing.

Like holy shit, what even?! :rainbowderp:

But the movie was pointless, if we had really look at it, it was a magical incursion where another dimension was infected by and changed in terms of the laws of physics, with magic. The rest of the movies are merely Sunset and Twilight waffling around in a long winded attempt at damage control.

Movie 1: Infected by magic
Movie 2: Inter-dimensional prisoners finding an "out" of their jail and made their move
Movie 3: Dimensional rectal fissures tearing up everywhere
Movie 4: Infested magic solidifies and manifests into that dimension's infinity sto- Elements, human dopplegangers get power boosts/mahou shoujo gear
Movie 5: More magical shenanigans

Oh, D-dogs so early? Unless Doug has a weapon, things'll get messy

9143165
My little pony annual 2013, the fall of sunset shimmer. Though I didn't think the movies were that bad (okay, it was mostly the music)

I have to hand it to her, bitch knows how to bargain

Out in the Badlands, contemplating sex and fetishes are apparently top priority

It's there but just more examples of Equestrians screwing other races over. Poor Brutus, guy has a smell fetish and was very reasonable, even when he held that mare prisoner, you can't dupe someone from a fair cut and not expect punishment, sucks for how he lost his nose

First instance of combat and to see magic used on the offensive, the shock is done, now will it form as a trauma or steel him for what's ahead.

Woo, loot, gear, adventure and a stalker watches from a distance

Doug is going to kill her, she hurt his family and that puts her on any human's shit list

Aww how cute, Doug'll still probably strangle or punch her after the 2-3 year limit passes. She used his family for an experiment that amounted to a "I told you so"

*After events of the first movie passes, Doug steps back through the portal with rope in hand*
Celestia: "Is Sunset alright?"
Doug: "One sec" *Tugs rope hard, a battered Sunset falls out*
Doug: "Herd Apple has achieved satisfaction of wrongs Sunset Shimmer has incurred to us" *Walks away*

Ugh, the image of Spike eyeing up Rarity in here like the show, is a bit messed up knowing she's married. If he's still looking at her later despite that? Eck.

To let you know about this chapter is that I Don't take the genderist craps lightly, on both sides. Besides that, mhm, I don't care.

Okay, if it was a insult kind of genderist, I won't be happy. But if more of a compliment one or did it to one's self, I'm fine with it. Because I forgot about different levels of those.

This chapter: :facehoof: really, really. I think you're trying to get as much characters from the show as possible, but I still like it.

You just let them give in to that b****** demands? Really mad as powerful as Rarity can be?

I am curious as to whether or not the mana battery idea is borrowed from kudzuhaiku's The Chase

9197938
Haven't read that, I don't think; it was more from The Maretian if anything, or the idea of a item you charge from Dungeons and Dragons, like a scroll or staff

This last chapter had some SERIOUS Saw vibes to it. It felt like an ending to one of the films, just play Zepp Eight while reading this and the chills are.... SHUDDER

9231480
Aww man, tried reading this while playing Zepp Eight. Both pauses in the music happened at perfect times, once when Celestia returns and the explosion happens, the second when she starts reading the journal. Might need another big reveal at the end, though, because I finished the chapter when the third pause happened.

Looking forward to you getting to the Book Six epilogue ;)

Lol. He is giving her ideas and arming her without anyone knowing.

Mauds a natural choice by Pinkie but I would think they would be dialing 1-800-DR.-HORSE or Celestia.

When you said you conducted research before was that because if a lack of familiarity or just for continuity sake?

Not bad. I especially like how you are not totally equating Sunset (with a more plausible back story to her personality) and Glimmer. Not sarcasm. Just an assumed observation.

What did make me a bit queasy is the fact most stuff is aligning with the known reality but without Doug.

Then I see that he had an expanded family in the future. So that is probably a false fear.

This series had a rocky beginning but is expanding well over time I think in a fine way. That being said I think a good portion of the super fast pace of the first fic was just to get it out of the way and also to show how different something's are there.

Really kudos it feels like you took an alternate reality and are trying to realign it with the messy but interesting complications that would bring. This should have more views.

Sorry I realize now that you received all of these but again it's pretty impressive that you are putting together all this back story for the alternate beginning of the first season.
