I've long been invested in Shining and Cadance as a couple, enough that it can be upsetting to read stories where their marriage is faltering. But that being said, it's a very interesting and believable idea that daily forced company with Sombra would eventually result in Shining gravitating towards him when he feels lonely. And in a weird way, experiencing love might be good for Sombra ... adultery notwithstanding. Who knows if he's ever been in an honest, equal couple?

And of course, the question in every story about cheating is, when and how will the other shoe drop?

If you want my opinion, I'd be interested in reading more of this.

I read this for the plot.

Like, the actual plot. My bio probably explains that, tbh. I'd be very interested in seeing another story in this setting with this version of Cadance, Shining, and Sombra, specifically with more character development from Shiny and this Sombra - maybe with a little backstory on the Sombra here? It'd do wonders for his character portrayal and giving him the same depth as the Royal Couple (though, not-so-couple here. Ouch.). Sombra is a wealth for exploring historical settings, lore, character, and anything just as Luna, Celestia, and other olden pones are. Some new Sombra stuff would be great and help set your portrayal apart. One question that comes to mind that I really wouldn't mind an answer to would be how a pony from over a thousand years ago is so comfortable with being really openly gay. I've seen Sombra usually done as straight, and other times he's sort of bi? Like, he doesn't seem to care, but still seems mostly straight with as little exploration as he's usually given (something that makes me sad).

This was one of the two or so stories that splits up ShiningDance or causes a rift between them in a way that is painful, but not something I hate. Still hurts though.

It'd be nice if a sequel/companion story had more drama-centric stuff too - either T or M, I dunno what it'd be, but having a story with drama and character focus instead of just... less-than-plain sex like there is here (I guess? I mean, I looked at your stories to see if you did any other ShiningSombra that had the good plot focus and dialogue between them, but it looks like the others have some really darker twists and sex that just isn't what I look for in stories for reasons of personal taste, even though I basically skim them).

It's all just my advice though! Your story, your rules.

But a longer actual romance/drama with a rare Sombra ship and plot focus would be great! And that's not just the asexuality speaking!
