CHS: Opinions of Restoration
“For the last time Pinkie, I don’t think a “Sorry-That-We-Didn’t-Believe-You-About-You-Not-Being-Anon-A-Miss-And-Are-Really-Sorry-For-Not-Standing-Up-For-You” Party is gonna make things better with Sunset!”
The sky blue teen stopped to catch her breath. Why did the party planner have to make such obtuse names for her parties?
“Well I don’t see you coming up with any suggestions, Rainbow Dash!” The pink girl snapped back, crossing her arms as she glared at the other teen.
“Would you two please calm down?” Rarity asked, trying to stop the group from getting kicked out of the Sweet Shoppe, “I understand you both are trying very hard to try and decide how we are going to let Sunset know how sorry we are, but shouting is not a good way to communicate with one another.”
Fluttershy had been cowering for the last few minutes behind her hair, refusing to risk her neck.
“Rarity is right y’all,” came the stern tone of Applejack, her feet kicked up on another chair casually, “We need ta talk this thing out, not shout at each other.”
Fluttershy chose that moment to pipe up, mustering as loud a voice as she could. “I don’t think Sunset would like to see us fighting like this… I mean…” She saw four pairs of eyes glance back at her, and her immediate response was to give a small “meep!” and duck away again.
“Sorry shugahcube,” Applejack reached out a well calloused hand to the animal lover, “Didn’t mean ta scare ya er nothin’.”
“Yes, please continue dear.” Rarity replied, staring down Rainbow Dash who was about to open her mouth again.
“Well, uhm…” the buttercream teen started up again, “I was just meaning to say that it won’t, um, help us to apologize to Sunset if we are fighting about what to do…”
“But what are we supposed to do?” Rainbow muttered exasperatedly, “And no Pinkie, a party isn’t gonna make this all better.”
“Then what’re ya suggestin’, RD?” Applejack was probing the rainbow maned teen.
“I don’t know, alright?” She threw her hands up, “There! Happy? We fucked up AJ, worse than I think we can fathom.” She skulked under the glare Mrs. Cake was giving her from the counter.
The farmer sighed, “Sorry, Rainbow… Ah think ah can speak fer all o’ us when ah say we are all pretty bummed about all this.”
“I still can’t believe that we did that…” the normally frizzy hair of Pinky was flat and lifeless, “What were we thinking?”
“I don’t know dear, none of us do.” Rarity reached out a gentle hand to her friend.
“I still can’t believe that the girls were the ones behind it all…” commented Fluttershy quietly.
“Don’t remind me...” responded Rainbow Dash curtly, “I can’t believe Scoot’s would do something so petty! Next time I see her…” Rainbow unconsciously clenched her fists.
Rarity and Applejack both averted their gaze. Rainbow had been lucky in the sense that Scootaloo wasn’t actually related to the athlete, but Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom had both gotten some pretty harsh punishment from their sisters.
“I still can’t believe all of us got punished as well though!” Rainbow was still running her mouth in frustration, “No phones and no internet? How am I supposed to record my awesomeness!?”
“Fer land’s sake, Rainbow!” Applejack had launched to her feet and slammed down on the table, “How dense can ya be? Look at what we did to Sunset!”
“I know we are quiet at the moment dearies, but please do restrain yourselves.” Mrs. Cake called out from her post.
“At least it’s not as bad as the girls…” Rarity commented when everybody sat down again after calming themselves, “Detention for the rest of the year, no extracurricular activities, and suspended for the rest of the month!”
“Plus tha Cyber Bullyin’ Awareness classes they have ta attend in tha mean time.”
“I think we may, uhm,” Fluttershy piped up once more from behind her mess of hair, “getting sidetracked again?”
“Only ‘cause we can’t think of anything.” Pinkie said grimly. The rest of the group had been surprised at the change in the teen since the announcement of Sunset’s innocence. “And I agree with Rainbow, a party isn’t going to fix this, but what else can we do?”
“Last time we saw her before the assembly we were quite rude to her.” Rarity looked disappointed in herself, “And she was right at the assembly. We betrayed her, Twilight, and what we are supposed to represent.”
“Generosity, Laughter, Honesty, Kindness, and Loyalty.” Rainbow called out as she pointed around the table, “Or more like Selfishness, Mocking, Falsity, Spite, and Treachery…”
All five teens looked down, unable to deny the tags Rainbow had applied to them.
“I’m sure Twilight would be able to help us.” Fluttershy stated, breaking the silence, “But she’s almost more angry at us than Sunset…”
“Can ya blame her?” Applejack said incredulously, “We betrayed her, an’ pushed tha person we were given by her ta help ta tha point o’ offin’ herself.”
“I’d be cross at us as well.” Rainbow said, scratching at the table absentmindedly. “I just wish we knew how to make it up to Sunset…”
“Maybe we should try talking to her?” Pinkie said halfheartedly, “Doubt it could go worse than yesterday.”
“Well I doubt that we would be able to ask Crystal Prep to allow us to talk to her,” Rarity stated, “and I don’t know if any of you have had better luck, but she has yet to respond to my texts.”
“She probably blocked us…” Fluttershy muttered in defeat.
“Well I say we find someway to get ahold of her.” Rainbow stated as she stood up, “We have to talk to her, let her know that we are sorry even if she doesn’t accept it.”
“Ah think we should give ‘er some time to herself, RD,” Applejack said, “Ah have no doubt that she don’t want to see any o’ us anytime soon.”
“Well I’m still gonna keep sending her texts. She gotta read one eventually… right?”
Rarity pitied at how hard her friend was grasping at straws, not unlike everyone else present herself included. How do you make amends for something like this? It’s not like you can just hug and all of a sudden everything is better! You’d have to be childish to believe such an absurd idea.
“I think we should all head home for the time being.” Rarity stood up and grabbed her purse, “We should all rest on this and reconvene at a more opportune time.”
All present noded, each rising up to leave, but not before apologizing to the shop owners. They had a lot on their plates to think about, and were unsure if there even was an answer for this situation. Rainbow paused before she followed after the rest of her group, digging her phone out of her pocket and hammering out a quick string of taps before returning the device to it’s resting spot.
******************************************
Sunset’s bleary eyes cracked open as she felt her phone buzz beside her head, hands gingerly grasping the item and bringing it in front of her blurry vision.
“New Text!”
“From: Rainbow Dash”
“Contents:”
“Sorry.”
Yeah sighs sorries arenp;t going to be enough nor parties or so. If Sunset doesn't hate them, they should be just happy with that, and leave it.
Like that one fic Apologizes aren't enough or the one shot sequeals to Darin's Amon-A-Miss fics Apple Jack faces the hard truth, they may of lost Sunset forever.
Surprised the Cakes didn't treat Sunset the same as the others or did they figure she was innocent as well?
I guess the best chance that the humane 5 are going to have to make thing better with sunset is at the Friendship Games.
Forgiveness is ultimately about the person harmed/slighted letting go of their attachment to the feelings that resulted from it. That being said, there's nothing that says you have to be on good terms with someone after you forgive them (Which is often foolish, since they've shown a capacity to harm in the first place), or even inform them that they've been forgiven. That said, letting go of something so significant is no easy feat, even if you're better off forgiving them and continuing disliking and distrusting them in a more detached manner.
MLP seems to feel that taking actions such as telling them they are forgiven (or not taking an action you are entitled to, such as choosing not to punish someone for breaking the rules when doing so would be part of your job), and/or trying to be on good terms with them, is somehow a vital part of the process of forgiveness.
I noticed you added two more chapter to this so I decided to check it out and see that you will make some one shots in the future. Can't wait to see what those are like. So the Rainbooms are trying to think of a way to make up with Sunset? Honestly I don't believe they deserve a second chance considering what she went through but if they are serious about this they better do something to actually earn it. A simple I'm sorry isn't going to fix it and neither is a party for that matter.
I remember before how you said you would have Princess Twilight take the magic away from them and relocate the portal. I'm wondering how but then Discord comes to mind seeing that he can bend reality. Is that how you plan on doing it? Another thing I'm wondering is what kind of punishment did Sweetie Bell and Rarity's parents give her? I'm pretty sure she might get ground and had her laptop taken away from her. Same thing for Scootaloo and Apple Bloom. Hell I would say make sure the three are not allowed to see each other anymore by Scootaloo's mom and dad, along with Granny Smith and Rarity's mom and dad too.
Also I hope the parents of the students of CHS have punished them for giving posts to the Crusaders.
This has been a great story and I'm sure at the end of this chapter Sunset will delete and block her ex-friends. Hope to see the one shots when they are done.
Good Luck Moon-Lite.

Why shouldn't they get a second chance? Sunset tormented them for years then literally tried to kill them and she got a second chance. Would be pretty hypocritical of her if she didn't offer them them a second chance as well.
Nice to see the Rainbooms reflecting on how badly they messed up and catching us up to speed on all that's gone down. All they can do is just do small things such as the "Sorry" text for now as they work out on how to fix this - if they even can.
8239474
Sunset after getting defeated the first time by Twilight and the others actually worked to redeem herself. If you have read Firebirds Nest you could see what I mean. Also it didn't help that in Rainbow Rocks that Principle Celestia and everyone else keep bringing up Sunsets mistake and they wouldn't even let her help in the band considering she knew how to play guitar and knew just as much about Equestrian magic as Twilight did. She was Princess Celestia's former pupil before.
Also considering the Rainbooms didn't learn the first time around when this Anon-A-Miss crap started you would think that they would know Sunset wouldn't have made it so obvious.
8239747
I'm familiar with Firebird's Nest but I'm not sure how an unfinished fan-fiction applies to this story.
The Rainbooms didn't bring up her past on purpose its just hard to forget about the time someone turned into a demon and Celestia and Luna only brought it up when they were under the Siren's influence. It was also implied Sunset didn't want to be in the band considering she didn't tell them she could play guitar and she had no problem calling Princess Twilight for help (remember Sunset didn't have much confidence in herself at the time). Them being quick to blame Sunset for Anon-a-miss just shows that they never really dealt with the unresolved issues they had with Sunset from her darker days (it was also the fault of poor story telling in the original comic) so when it looked like she'd gone back to her old ways they felt betrayed and acted out in anger (in the original comic when they finally calm down they realize how unfair they were and gave Sunset the benefit of the doubt).
8239836
I'll agree with you on that about the comic as a result of poor story telling and the guy who wrote that was a fucking idiot. Excuse my language. But the thing is the Rainbooms didn't even try to listen and just jumped to conclusions. Like Spike said in the story I mentioned the moment something went wrong they immediately assume that Sunset went back to her old ways. Hell Rainbow Dash in Rainbow Rocks even almost blew their plan because of her stupid ego. There is another story I can mention and I'll share it soon.
Also Principle Celestia wasn't under the control of the Sirens in the beginning of Rainbow Rocks when she brought up the fall formal.
8239836
Here is the other story I mentioned and there is it's sequel.

8239943
Read those as well. God I've read alot of these lol, thank goodness I've also found some that do something different as well.
8239967
Yeah I know how you feel. Some of the story's on this site get a bit too dark anymore.
They have to realize at some point to move on from this mistake and learn from it.
While they keep on with that determination to apologise, they're still thinking more of themselves than respecting Sunset's wishes. It's not wrong to want to set things right, but they need to stand back and give everyone, themselves, Sunset, and Twilight all alike, time to recover and heal from past events before there's any realistic chance of making amends, rather than just paying lip service to the idea of being friends.
Even I felling sorry for the rainbooms, they don't deserve another chance with Sunset.
8239417
The cakes had been informed by the Rainbooms that Sunset was declared innocent, and in my version of the storyline they didn't take much interest in the happenings of high school drama~
8239442
Most likely~ ;'D
8239462
Sunset is going to be struggling with what to do with the Rainbooms, as evidenced by the flashbacks before the assembly in 'Overflow of Thruth'. She still feels devestated by what they had done to her, but a tiny repressed part of her mind is still causing her to think back on it, making her think of 'Stockholm Syndrome'~
Aside from the punishments listed in the story, the three of them definitely got some pretty harsh punishments at home as well as the fact that they are going to be public enemy #1 at school. Things are going to be harsh for them.
Glad you are looking forward to the filler I have planned~ ^^
8239563
Yeah I felt like I had to show how the 5 of them are failing at dealing with the results of their actions. No big group hug or outrageous party is going to make things better, and whilst they they understand that they are unable to think of a way to show they are sorry. So they continue to bombard Susnet with texts say that they want to try and apologize for their actions~
8240139
I remember that show xD
Sadly this guidebook is very strict and boring XP
8240325
Mwahaha~! >;'D
8240387
Yup~
At this point of the story, just after the chapter 'Overflow of Truth', they have gathered at the Sweet Shoppe to try and figure out what to do. They are still shocked at what they had done and are trying to figure out what to do, and being young and inexperienced they think they need to make it better immeditely~
They will have to wait awhile to see Susnet again~ ;'D
8240566
Understandable~
Just gonna have to see what comes of it~ >;'D
I mean, there is at least 3 more story arcs after this one ^^
so and squeal plans still reading by the way just in case you talked about that at the end
They really should reflect on how they treated her, and also how easily they were tricked into turning on each other. Let us face it, they broke up last time bcoz of Sunset. And this time someone did the same thing. They lack the ability to think clearly when their feelings get hurt and do not try to find out the truth, even when it does not make sense.
Sunset: "You five would rather believe in the worst of each other than seek the truth! It's why it was so easy! You probably resented me and were waiting for an excuse to throw me away!"
8241339
Sequels are indeed planned! The next arc is going to be based on the Friendship Games~
8241388
Lots of reflecting going on with them
8241419
sweet but that is also going to be so awkward mostly because of the name
8242228
I got a different name for it planned~
8242271
Ok
There is two things that isn't clear enough. Princess Twilight's reaction to the betrayal to Sunset. And of course when Princess Twilight tells Princess Celestia what's happening. Princess Celestia needs to have a reaction to it to because we can't forget that Sunset was Celestia student before twilight. So do you have something in the works for a princess Celestia reaction to anon-a-miss and Sunset attempted death?
8242921
Ah, this One-Shot takes place directly after Fall of Harmony: Overflow of Truth, which has Princess Twilight facing the students of CHS~
As far as Princess Celestia's reaction, that is going to be shown in the next One-Shot, Equestria: The Prodigal Daughter, which is in the works~

It's important to remember the context in each story as well. The situation here is very different than in the original comic and Firebirds' Nest. Here, she was attacked with a knife and even tried to kill herself. The mane 5 even went out of their way to antagonize her in the mall, never once bothering to consider that the girl bawling and curled up on the floor was being genuine. Even when they learn she was innocent, they were still complete asses, completely ignoring that Sunset was enjoying herself with the sirens for their own grudge and acting like they didn't do anything more than accuse her of stealing Fluttershy's homework. In the comic and Firebirds' Nest, there was just the first encounter and the cafe encounter, but the mane 5 never bothered to apologize and instantly forgave the CMC. Even worse, in the comic they were talking about how the entire thing might be unforgivable even if family did it, then instantly forgive the CMC (seemingly more hurt that their sisters embarrassed them than making Sunset completely miserable). Still, Sunset didn't have it anywhere near as rough from the mane 5 in either the comic or Firebirds' Nest as she did here.
Other details are very important as well. Mainly, how bad was Sunset pre EQG and how she was treated post reformation. Both here and in Firebirds' Nest, Sunset was definitely a bitch, but she was efficient and only targeted those in her way, and she never went too far. The difference comes post reformation. In Firebirds' Nest, the mane 5 unintentionally treated Sunset kind of like crap. They would constantly ignore her except when they were accidentally ignoring her, usually assume worse of her, and would always leave her out. There was also the bits where none of them realized Scootaloo or Sunset were homeless (which they aren't in this story), that Sunset was judging her self worth entirely off of how they viewed her, and this was the third time they were driven apart because they were too petty and egotistical to even attempt to talk out their problems (plus Sunset never got an apology for her treatment in Rainbow Rocks or for Anon-A-Miss). This story has a much more positive view of post the post reformation friendship, so the collapse was much more based on Anon-A-Miss itself rather than the event being the straw that broke the camel's back.
In Firebirds' Nest, the mane 5 were oblivious to way too much and needed a very serious wake up call, which came at the cost of completely shattering Sunset's trust. That Sunset wants to forgive them and move on, but can't just yet, not until they learn their lesson. Here, the mane 5 and the rest of the school (including the principals) were much more harmful and vicious but had a better past with them and Sunset wasn't as dependent on their approval. Still, this Sunset is willing to give second chances as seen with the sirens, but was also hurt a lot more by the school as a whole and the mane 5, so it's up in the air if she should forgive them or not.
I see all the students get punished for their actions, but what about the teachers and faculty? They are just as guilty, if not more so.
8353147
Most likely something happened to them, but I doubt I will bring up anything about it as that is in the past now for the story~
Wow...that is probably the longest name that I've ever seen Pinkie give one of her parties.
....
....
...
REALLY DASH?!
Eeyup.
You can't.
Sorry Dash but...we're way passed that.
Hm...how did they get her new number? I mean she has a new phone, so she has a new number too? Just curious.
You know, at this point, Canon Pony Rainbow Dash is looking at THIS version of Equestria Girls Rainbow Dash.
And she is saying "THERE IS NO F&^%ING WAY WE'RE THE SAME CHARACTER!"
Canon Pony Rainbow Dash is egotistical, a bit of a hothead, and she may have a hard time understanding other's thoughts and emotions.
BUT SHE IS NOT THIS STUPID!

Yep

If I remember correctly it is possible to have messages that are sent to an old number forwarded to a new one so long as no one else gets the old one.
How do you make amends for something like this? It’s not like you can just hug and all of a sudden everything is better! You’d have to be childish to believe such an absurd idea. to me this is the biggest problem with most of the anon_a_miss stories on this website, and some of the sunset-celestia stories too, that people will think some tears and heartfelt words that will inevitably end in a hug that solves all the problems and heartache. That's why I like this story because the human 5 are NOT forgiven and sunset doesn't let them of the hook and get sucked back into their drama and bs, I love the anonamiss storyline and a lot of the stories people here have written, but sometimes i just hate that a lot of people make sunset too forgiving and usually it ends with a sappy hug where sunset comes to some sappy conclusion and everything is just dropped as if it never happened, so I want to thank the author of this story for giving it more realworld action and consequences
I'll say it again these five should just accept that Sunset is done with them.

Seeing your comment and considering that a lot of people compare and contrast Rainbow to this particular character, I just have to say it.
Pony RD: Whew, so far so good. Hey! That's-!
EQG RD: That Rainbow Dash again of all places.
Pony RD: I found you, Faker!
EQG RD: Faker? I think you're the fake Rainbow Dash around here. You're comparing yourself to me? HA! You're not even good enough to be my fake.
Pony RD: I'll make you eat those words! I am the REAL Rainbow Dash!
