I've never found any of those stories that I've enjoyed. In fact, that's why ponies live for hundreds of years in mlaabq, so that all of the Mane 6 will have time to become alicorns

You actually kinda get used to everyone dropping dead around you after the first century. I know I did.

I agree with the reasoning for the long lives. Kinda wish they were all immortal, but I guess we have to wait on RHJunior for that.

Yeah, I take the Word of God that denies this, and apply it to what I feel is a logical conclusion: it was never an actual answer to the question it was responding to. Whatever natural lifespan you ascribe to ponies in general and alicorns in particular doesn't matter when one of the friends she's not going to outlive is Rainbow Dash. I question the premise that Dash's lifestyle will even let her reach old age, never mind die of it. (Pinkie Pie, by contrast, is probably more immortal than the Royal Sisters, or at least we can't deny the possibility without also denying most of the things she's done on-screen.)
