This story is a sequel to The Deepest Magic
The Chimera's defeat has heralded a new time of peace within Equestria. The future looks bright: the Crystal Empire has returned in the north, the devastation wrought by the Chimera has been almost entirely restored, and Twilight Sparkle has become Equestria's newest alicorn princess.
However, not all is perfect within the land. Princess Luna has fallen into a depression as she grapples with the errors of her past, and Sky Streak cannot shake the Chimera's final words about the source of hatred within the land, and the threat of its own return. But now that he is a member of the elite Alicorn Guard, he believes he is more prepared than ever to stand against whatever darkness rises against his home.
But as Sky prepares to once again face down the darkness, he will enter a dangerous game where nothing is as it seems. And when his world is shattered in one tragic moment, he will need to come to grips with his own anger and bitterness. Because if Friendship is the deepest magic, then the only way to conquer the darkness is to spread that friendship...even to your enemies.
Haha, sorry about that. Between work (retail in December in a mall), classes (projects, finals, and the like), holidays (and the out-of-town family members that come with it), and life in general, I've been plenty busy. Work on the story has been REALLY slow going, but I've been taking the opportunity at work to work on dialogue during the occasional lulls in the action. I actually bought a rhyming dictionary a few days ago to help with one character in particular. *wink wink*
All that to say that yes, I'm still very much working on this. I've had a few breakthroughs in the plot line within the past twenty-four hours, so once I get some free time to actually sit down and write, it should take off. Just hang in there!
P.S. The next chapter is technically tentatively complete, so if you'd like, I'll post it up, if it'll make you feel any better

Been working on it already (promise!). I've come to the point in the story where I have a better framework and understanding of what should happen, so I should be churning it out much quicker now. Thanks for the interest as always!

As a matter of fact, I actually have another chapter up and ready to go, and there's not a lot I can do in the short time I have before I need to hit the sack (Black Friday is a menace), I'll just post it up here. It technically has four! My first four stories (Roots of Fear, Ice and Shadow, Under the Black Sky, and The Deepest Magic) were a four-arc saga that introduced Sky Streak and my other OC's into existence. If you want to keep reading Oathbound, I'd suggest you read those four, as well. It'll give some insight into the characters, as well as a bit of backstory to each of them. The Chimera is actually a character I decided to insert because I needed a new villain, but one that didn't have any connection to the canon. I actually created it before it made an appearance in the show! Though I'm glad that it did...it validates it in my mind. But the Chimera actually isn't connected to Discord at all. The Chimera's backstory is explained a bit in Oathbound, but the full truth of the Chimera won't be revealed until the next story. Stay tuned!
