I'm... I'm sorry, that was terrible of me. Anyone who is still around, still waiting and hoping, still here enjoying the heck out of my pony words- What did I ever do to deserve wonderful people like you?

Anyway!
I sat down to write this because I needed to check in, post some things, and make an announcement. I wanted to comment on To Love a Pony and how much I love the idea of a Christmas chapter. Deadlines are good for motivation, and last minute panic is still motivation. (But let's not let it come to that.)
...'cause I've got like 5 pages left to edit, but I've been distracted by ponies arguing in Equosar.
That's my made up language, y'know.
Word replacement is hard... Tonight's troubles include, but are not limited to:
Contractions in Equosar? WTF!
Adjectivising verbs.
Draconic.
Consistency, consistancy, consestency!

So, unfortunately I'm not going to finish in time for Bronycon. The first nearly-half of the chapter is edited, but that still leaves me with 40 pages-worth to go, and I've got only about 13 hours before I plan to be in Baltimore. It's coming (and M1nty keeps poking me) (Thanks for being cool like that, by the way!), just not as fast as I'd like.
Which, I'll admit, is my fault.
I've been putzing around for some time now - quite a few days, even - trying to think of a good thing to blog about. I know I should do something to at least let everyone know I'm alive, but the question has always been what exactly do I say? I'm normally a rather private person, and life is just kinda' normal.
In addition to saying how the chapter is coming I could talk about how I need to finish a giant packet of boring to have a chance at promotion.
I saw a bookshelf addition pop up that made me sad the other day. And then angry, but mostly sad. (Okay, not that sad or angry, but I was suddenly motivated to plagiarize... well, you know.) So what's going on?
It's kinda' long, but it's Monty Python, (sneaky rhyme!) so deal with it. It's good for you!
So I mentioned a thing. I don't know if anyone really noticed because it was the most minor of a mention and surrounded by things that were more thing-y.
Well, it's blossomed into a full blown thing-tree...
I need to get off the thing-trip, because I was suddenly reminded how squicky things get with a Thing around. And I'm getting side-tracked.

Anyways, having been at the LoE panel at Bronycon, I was actually aware of happenings. You know what that means? Etherea going on adventures!
First off, I apologize all, but I've done nothing since posting the last chapter.
Well, at least I'm... alive. Pretty sure. Yup, seem to be.
The night I posted I also accomplished one of my other long time goals.

Where am I at? Well, so many authors talk about editors and prereaders. I've got one and he's a fine fellow. But he's just that: an editor. What he does is scan through what I've done and find minor edits so that the story is properly polished. I keep trying to snag him for revisions, but he's not biting.
Eh, close enough.
Well, everyone, I've finally gotten the next chapter of To Love a Pony sketched out. A few days away to visit family up in northern-ish Minnesota backwoods (you don't know how much I've missed decent water pressure!) gave me plenty of time to grind away at the stone. Chapter 11 clocks in right around, oh... 18.8k-ish words. So now all I need to do is...
Revise the entire fucking thing?! 
Note: If you take this post to its "logical conclusion" and act on it, I'll be forced to have my story's Luna pay you a visit. Capiche? Good.
One of my long term goals has always been to get my story into The Good HiE List. The exclusivity! The fame! The *cough* fortune! *cough* I even had a folder all picked out, so the only thing still missing was to actually have Alex end up in Equestria. (Spoiler alert...)
So...
I bet you all are wondering a great many things - I am too! - though the foremost is likely what happened to all the cheese. I'll get to that. In the more immediate term, I have indeed moved. Solo apartment life was going to soon become untenable and thankfully I have some good friends who helpfully reminded me in passing that I had an open invitation to stay with them. So I did the only sensible thing and announced that I was going to be taking them up on that. 
TLaP chapter 10 is awaiting some people to give it a look-over before it gets posted. Yes, it's essentially done, but there are things that I want to verify as realistic "enough." (I should probably use the "overflowing" warning on my bean counter to denote this step of the process. Yes...)
Oh, and I don't want to cut my editor out of the process. Y'know, friends and all... Hmmmm.

I figured it was high time I put something more upbeat on the front page of my blogs.

My cat is doing wonderfully, as usual. Soft and fluffy, sweet, and adorable as per normal. She was a bit put out about having to stay at a friend's place this week, but she's adapting well and is currently on my lap begging for nuzzles.
