Nominations for the 2017 Ursa Major Awards are open, and I would like to point out that Quantum Gallop qualifies in the Novel category. If you participate in this kind of thing and you think I deserve it, I would appreciate you submitting a nomination for my book.
It took way too long, but I received the proof copy of the paperback version of Quantum Gallop today, and it looks fantastic! Big too! 550 pages big.
The front cover is shown below, but if you wish to see the whole wraparound cover without any text, go to DeviantArt to see it. The art was commissioned from AphexAngel.
I finished Quantum Gallop without a picture of Luna and her foal. That has been rectified! You don't have to go back to the story to see it though.
My pre-reader, Jeffh4 , was interested in the fate of the alternate Sterling Shield, and wrote this short story:
An inquiry from Jeffh4 for some details on House Path, led me to do a little background world building....
House Path's primary campus is in Griffonia. The other major campuses so far are in Ponyville and the Crystal City. There are sub-branches in Canterlot, Manehattan, Baltimare, and Vanhoover, with plans for further branches as time and resources permit.
While I was getting a new chapter of Quantum Gallop done, my collaborator added to the side story - The Life and Times of Flix the Hippogriff. Check it out for some manic fun!
If you read the latest chapter of Quantum Gallop (#8) very soon after I posted it, you might not be aware of a small but significant retcon that I did of the changeling character who was caught up in the team's escape to the past. Steady Gaze is now Sterling Shield. If you have read my other stories, you will know the significance of that name. I have a lot in store for him.
I had completely forgotten to get a cover pic ready for Quantum Gallop when I had the first chapter ready to publish, so I used one of the illustrations as a rather poor placeholder. I've replaced it with the proper image now, but I'm going to go one step further here. Behold my first simple animated GIF!
