As Cartography winds down here I'm considering opening an Askblog for Rose and Gerard. But I'm pretty ambivalent.
Points for:
- I could keep my hand in so far as pony writing goes without committing to an actual story
- There's a lot of stuff in the setting that can't possibly be touched on any of the stories
- I could actually engage with my readers

No really, I'm still writing.

This chapter ran into an unfortunate confluence of "this is really hard to write" and "oh my god real life would you quit it." However it's sitting at 5400ish words and I only have a few scenes left I think.

I had been intending to post a new chapter of Cartography this weekend, but I wasn't entirely satisfied with it and this morning I had a shower thought that fixes my issues with the chapter! It just...involves writing a lot more than I'd already had. So, uh, it's going to be a bit longer.

So next chapter we get to find out what was in The Box.

I'm curious as to what you all think it is. Clearly I won't spoil it but I'm interested to see if anyone comes close.

The past month or so hasn't been so great for writing, but I've finally gotten back on track. The next chapter of Cartography should be out tonight or tomorrow, though I can't guarantee a return to the chapter-a-week I had going for a while.

So I looked at Cartography of War for the first time in over a month and to my surprise found I had words for it.

I'll commit to release one more chapter (beyond the one I posted yesterday-ish?) before I vanish again into the murky depths.

If you haven't checked it out yet, I posted up third chapter today. I think with these three chapters you have enough feel for the characters, but I might as well add some additional information.

This is set in the same canon as my trilogy, but much, much earlier. I'm going to be using more of my xenofiction construction in it than I did in the others, but not the full construction. Similarly, gryphons will be put together as a coherent culture.
