You're getting one more Generic fic. Hopefully. It's meta as all hell, but I think it'll get through. It is not comedy. It's more like Stephen King's Misery, except the writer is being held captive by his creation rather than his biggest fan.

This is what I parody. Added this morning to the site, This is My Story is the self insert story of a red and black alicorn OC waking up on the edge of the Everfree Forest. I couldn't bring myself to read it, but judging from the comments, it's everything it could ever hope to be.

Okay. So...I'm gonna rewrite A Generic Story 3 until I don't want to smash my head against my keyboard. You're welcome to read what I've got, but know this: It is the worst thing I have ever written...and I don't mean," this is so bad it's funny" bad. I mean it's, "this is so bad I can't finish it and I'm downvoting it and ceasing to follow Final Draft" bad.

What's a real generic way to open a story? In medias res, or describe everything the reader already knows?
