A Generic Story 3: Three Word Subtitle · 6:25pm Jan 15th, 2014
And that's the name it will be given! I'm still looking for some more bad writing practices with which to fill the story, so if anyone knows some recurring themes that piss them off, leave them in the comments. Some of my own questions for you are:
What is the color scheme of alicorn mare OC's?
What should Generic's cutie mark be? Should he have one at all?
What's a real generic way to open a story? In medias res, or describe everything the reader already knows?
EXPLOSIONS?
Seeing as this will be the last Generic Story I write (probably not), I want it to be generic as possible.
1. Rainbows. Lots and lots of brightly colored rainbows. For example: http://derpibooru.org/219921
2. An explosion. Or fire. Or a fiery explosion. Or a bleeding heart on fire and exploding.
3. The weather seems pretty generic to me. "It was a dark and stormy night" is considered cliche for a reason. Descriptions no one cares about seems about right. Kind of like if small talk were the only thing that was important.
4. Yes. Your story should be like the love child between Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich. Twice explosions too.
I see a lot of blue and white alicorn mares.
Female alicorns are usually pink or some very garish combination of colors.
The cutie mark of Generic should be something related to gaming, an internet reference or some other thing that doesnt exist in Equestria.
And, well.
Make sure to have way too many adverbs, and switch "to" and "too" and "two" and their, there, and they're, and as many other bad homonymn mess ups as possible!
and to tell instead of show as much as possible. if you want to just weird out people, then your writing should be written indirectly. "The book was eaten by the worm" is so much more ungainly than "The worm ate the book."
