One of my hang ups working on OUTWaste has been my fear that my character will come out sounding like Silver storm from FoE: Heroes. While the pony with no name has a completley different attitude and approach to how she handles a situation, I worry that I'll still be influenced by one of my favorite FoE Side Stories.

So I DID do a bit of rewriting on chapter 2. Buuut something about it was niggling me so I had some friends take a look at it. The agreement was that, while I might have had misgivings,* the original had a better bit of pacing to it than the rewrite. And so life goes on.

In other news, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! It's been a year since I last posted a chapter. But dang it it I refuse to give up!

In other, broni-unrelated, news I have started to relearn the violin. After almost twenty years I picked it up again, because dropping it was one of my bigger regrets. 5th grade we started band lessons and I thought I had to belong, so I traded my violin for a trombone (bleeeeeaarg). Of course I now realize I didn't need to do that but at least I have those five years of violin under my belt to help me get back on my feet.

No, I'm not dead I just...got lost. That's the best way I can put it. I don't have (think I have) depression but sometimes I can get really down on myself, esp. when I look at a project I have failed to work on (be it house work or art).

Chapter Five has been hanging around my PC since February and I just need to get over myself and put the gears together to get her up and running.

A little more editing going on again, this time on Chapter 4: Bullets Never Bluff.

Mostly it's small things like punctuation or rewording a sentence or two, but there are some details that, while minor, change the scene a little. For example, Daisy has gone from being 5 to being 10 years old. This was mostly because I guesstimated the cmc's ages on the first pass, and then thought about it some more after publishing.

Just sat down to read through my own story and find myself saying, "Dear me! I thought this was good?!"
Now I'm cringing and my OCADHD is making me want to fix it.
Buuuuuut I should probably use the time and effort to make sure I don't repeat the mistakes of the past.
