Anzhong purposely keeps his accent think to make people think he's fresh off the boat. This causes people to underestimate him, and he can throw people off their game. This has proven helpful in the courtroom and when negotiating deals.
Brigid does it because she prefers the sound of her native accent and finds it hilarious when people assume she's some uneducated hillbilly and she ends up being able to "science 'em up a tree".

Brigid is inspired by the Irish tri-goddess of the same name, and Minerva is inspired by the Roman goddess of the same name with a little bit of Athena thrown in there. Back when the Romans occupied the British isles, the goddesses Brigid and Minerva were combined to create the goddess Brigantia.

Since the first EQG movie came out in 2013, that's been my jumping off point. That puts the year that Sunset came to Earth as 2008.

It's the drawing Brigid made to demonstrate to Sunset that she and Anzhong were going to take care of her.

Platinum Wood will most likely not make a reappearance in SHWO, depending on how the story unfolds. My plan for him, at this moment, is to be a main villain in a sequel to this story. This might change as I'm letting the story tell itself.

So far in the SHWO story, I've had many minor villains that have shaped Sunset's view of humanity at large, but none of them are the main. The main villain of the story is Sunset's own mind, or demon Sunset as she would later be called. In short, this is a story about Sunset's declining mental health.
