I played these songs for my little sister. She began head whipping.
Now I can finally listen to it offline
What I love about Sabaton is that they don't just sing songs, they tell stories of wars and heroes past and the great events that occurred during those times.
HOLY FUCK! THE HYPE IS REAL OVER HERE!
In the shower a couple days ago I was mindlessly reciting a metal song and then had to go check a translation on my laptop. So basically, the name "Joachim" is actually from Hebrew, "Yoyaqim", meaning roughly, "whom God will establish" or "whom God will set-up" (it's from a verb that literally means, "to cause to stand up", "to establish", or "to set up").
Baptized in fire
Forty to one
Spirit of Spartans
Death and glory
Soldiers of Poland
Second to none
Wrath of the Wehrmacht brought to a halt
'cause there's a surprising overlap between 'metal fans' and 'bronies,' at least according to the comments on BY THE BLACK AXE OF NIGHTMARE MOON! Which is also my most-commented story. Go figure.
Anyway, here's some silly.
And not just because of Cinco De Mayo. On may 5th 1945, german soldiers defected from the Nazi regime and joined the allied forces in a fierce battle during the last days of the third reich.
It’s a long fucking way to Trondheim - Joakim Brodén
Vocalist Joakim Brodén of Swedish metallers SABATON recently lost a drunken bet with his bandmates, agreeing that the loser had to walk to the group's next gig, set for October 1 at Trondheim Metal Fest in Trondheim, Norway.
"I will not go into details on exactly what happened, but I can say that it was fun and a bit silly," Brodén told Norway's TRD.by.
I've made no particular secret of the fact that a ponified version of my favorite band--a Swedish metal group who found their niche singing about historical war stories--is taking a direct role in the Firefly story, with avatars for them created in the form of Episilon's earth pony maintenance crew, who hails from the north Equestrian territory of Swheaten. Their songs have already inspired several scenes and I have others lined up for the future,
Hey folks...
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'm starting work on the next Firefly chapter this weekend. Currently, I'm alternating chapters of it with Five Star Service and will continue to do so until the latter is complete in two more chapters. And after that? Will alternate between Firefly and The Lawyer and the Unicorn.
And tipping the scales at over 12,000 words. Titled The Power of Song for its centerpiece sequence, it will likely be approaching 13k after editing passes. It’s looking very good, having already earned a rave review from AJ_Aficionado, and will be launched tomorrow night, on the eve of my coming vacation to Las Vegas. It is, once again, the final chapter of Into the Storm, but definitely not the last word of the Firefly series. A new book will be started in due course, and
