Hello everyone! Good God, it's been a long, long time since I last did a movie review, huh?
Hello everyone! Good God, it's been a long, long time since I last did a movie review, huh?
1. So the ponies are all now so easily turned to racism after living together in peace and harmony for 1,000 years and seeing NO SIGN AT ALL FOR ALL 9 SEASONS that the 3 tribes have any lingering divisions. What utter bullshit.
2. The bell can steal magic... like everything else lately.
3. Discord sent them to get the bell, knowing what it could do... and knowing they're evil villains...
AKA, the stupid bet about mixing the two dumbest ideas he could think up that Jim Butcher laughed all the way to the bank on.
Those two ideas/old chestnuts—for the initiated, being, Whatever Happened To The Lost Legion—an alternative history work-horse whipped way, way post going rancid—and Pokemon.
Been reading through The Aeronaut's Windlass, and so far quite enjoyed it. Not done yet, but considering I'm at the 600+ pages mark with only a dozen chapters or so to go, the book would darn near need to pull a Thomas Covenant to reverse my positive opinion at this stage.
I finally finished chapter 6 of CtW?!
I'm not posting it until I've gotten my lovely Troll Squad to give it a once over and make sure I've not screwed up anywhere... but it's finally finished!!!
And TtS might have a new chapter soon too?! WHAT?!
Much love to Jim Hoxworth, Sylvian and Destiny-brave-fire for helping me get out of my rut on CtW06.
It's been like 2 years, huh? Well I had a thought that I need to spell out, again more for myself than for anyone else, but which is nuanced and complicated enough that I need to write it down, and that other people might just want to see. And I just so happen to have a blog with my random ramblings in it. So here we go again.
Man I should really catch up on ponies.

I met a guy at the local comics store yesterday--guy by the name of Jim-Something... I think he wrote a book or two Chengar, Ponibius and I have enjoyed.
I managed not to geek out until after I left. He was really damn cool in person.
Warning: Spoilers from the latest episode, Canterlot Boutique, abound. Proceed with caution.
NOTE: Feel free to listen to this for atmospheric purposes:
Now that I have your attention, I do believe I have a dilemma on my hands. It all started when I met this guy:
Then a chain of events happened like this:
And now, I look like this:
So... The last few days, I've gotten a fair chunk written for both CtW and TtS... Syl helped extensively with TtS07, and Jim's been helping me a lot with CtW07. TtS07 is almost finished, I'm just missing the last scene. As for CtW07, it's probably around half-finished, but I've hit another block on it... This seems to be the trend when I'm able to get a lot done... Once I get a significant portion done, I run out of juice and can't even squeeze out another full sentence.
Argh...
SO! Fun times... As some of you may know, I am an avid fan of Calm Wind's Wonderverse stories and recently, SoaringSoarin has been hosting a podcast about the new chapters, and some fun theories... Well in the fifth episode, he decided it'd be awesome to do an episode about The Expanded Wonderverse and the Troll Squad authors -- Jim Hoxworth, Sylvian, myself and Zoljen (and Destiny-brave-fire, but he was working so he couldn't be there) -- to promote our group and our stories.
So "Big Jim" Miller has had to lock his social media because apparently he's been getting death threats. Why? Because the Netherlands just decided to air the remainder of Season 9 early. Aside from the fact that the rest of us should be hypervigilant about spoilers, we ought to support the man who directed so many of our most beloved episodes. Aloha, my friends.
This is your all-out friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.
Today, I'm gonna give you guys my take of Jim Carrey's "The Mask".
Here's the rundown of it:
Riddle me this, what do you think of when you think of Easter? Christ rising from the dead or bunnies that shit chocolate and other confectionaries?
Ahem, totally not jelly because almost everyone in the world gets to gorge themselves on Easter eggs while I would shit myself if I try to do so because I'm lactose-intolerant.
But on a happier note:
Rating Scale:
12/10—a complete masterpiece; flawless and outstanding
11/10—Excellent, near-perfect film
This is a real shame. I have been doing my research and the Jim Henson Production and Netflix are looking to continue the story in other ways in the future but the series itself has indefinitely been called off.
This is a bummer. The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance was masterfully designed with traditional puppetry, innovative in story and world-building and made with love and care like no other in a while.
Rating Scale:
12/10—a complete masterpiece; flawless and outstanding
11/10—Excellent, near-perfect film
10/10—the standard rating; awesome film with a couple of flaws
9/10—a wonderful film with several flaws
Brooklyn is a miraculously moving, intimate look at the story of a young Irish girl's maturation and journey from girlhood to womanhood, while framed around the immigrant experience. Far from a flashy film, Brooklyn instead feels like a softly colored impressionistic look at the life of an Irish immigrate, and in tern, becomes one of the most serene and genuinely heartwarming films I've seen in quite some time.
