I just saw the most awesome thing ever !!!!
I just saw the most awesome thing ever !!!!
Warning, spoilers for The My Little Pony Movie lie ahead
It was cute.
But, I think the best points of the movie where the dark moments.
The seen after pinkies song was great, it really stuck out to me.
The songs themselves were good.
And holy crap I didn't think the Storm king would die like that.
That was bad ass.
Credits where cute.
It wasn't the best movie out there, but not the worst.
Ok so I saw the movie a couple of days ago and....
[Warning, May Contain Minor Spoilers]
So I just saw the movie (and it seems like I'm not the only one) and I wanted to say some of my thoughts. Even though you have literally no reason to read this I'm doing this anyway.
So, I finally, finally saw The My Little Pony Movie, and it was fine, I guess. I mean, it was NOWHERE near as disappointing as Legend of Everfree. Heck, my experience with the live-action Beauty and the Beast was more disappointing than my experience with this movie.
I’m going start with the cons because I want to end on a good note:
That's when Hasbro says The My Little Pony Movie, as it's thrillingly titled, will be released. (Tweet here.) Assuming the rumours of a long post-S5 hiatus prove to be true, that strongly suggests that S6 will be the final season of Friendship is Magic, at least in the form we know it today. Whether we go to G4.5 or a full-reboot G5 after that, who knows? But it's going to be interesting to find out.
The movie begins with a showcase of the Mane 6 as they are preparing for the Friendship Festival and on the eve of the event the forces of the Storm King arrive and bring the festivities to a complete halt.
The villains this time around are truly intimidating and rightfully scare the ponies into submission, The Storm Troopers towering over the ponies, with their apparent leader Tempest, a tall unicorn with a shattered horn, leading the invasion force.
So. The My Little Pony Movie is in theatres.
Can we just take a minute to bask in that fact? Yes? Good, okay, moving on.
I have not seen it yet, unfortunately; I had been planning on going out tonight, but sudden thunderstorms and a lack of vehicular transport have made that, sadly, an impossibility.
What I have been keeping up with are the reviews. And hoo-boy, are there some humdingers in there.
First things first, we officially have a theatrical poster for My Little Pony: The Movie!
IT'S SO SPARKLY!

Is it just me or do movies and properties that don't know if they're going to be any good try to lure you in with peripheral stuff? I mean seriously, how many times have we seen this over the years? From the writer of... is usually a tip off that you're in trouble. Or what about when they put the director or writers name at the beginning? Ladies and gentlemen get ready to scream for "John Carpenter's Roman Fanny Pack," or "Stephen King's Old People in Maine."
This is ridiculously adorable. Edgy waifu horse below!
Cutting-edge medical techniques and treatments for broken horns. Horn restoration through booping!
Got to love that expression!
This is Mayonnaise and he is quite spicy.
..... there is a problem with my multi-chapter fic for Tempest Shadow now.
When I saw the movie in October, I quickly developed a few theories about Tempest Shadow, based on some observations from the movie. One was that Tempest Shadow already came to the Storm King when she was still a filly, that the Storm King raised her and trained her to become the super soldier of his army, because he saw the potential in her.
