Sometimes, when I watch a new episode or read a new comic issue of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, what I see in it lines up perfectly with something that has happened to me before. "The Point of No Return" is one of these episodes. Even much more so than in the past, since I found myself in a similar situation as Twilight literally only a few days before it aired.
“…this review image kind of gives away the episode’s plot, doesn’t it?”
“Eeyup.”
“But then again, the episode title already does that, doesn’t it?”
“Eeyup.”
“So I suppose this doesn’t really count as a spoiler then, huh?”
“Eenope.”
So unless it's cover art for a fic, I don't normally go sharing the art I do here on this site...but I figured some of ya might recognize part of this one:
TWILIGHT: "You see, Princess Luna? If you just show other ponies the real you, they'll learn to love you all the same!"
LUNA: "If you say so, Twilight Sparkle. And perhaps then we might enjoy the same level of popularity that you generate amongst your fans?"
TWILIGHT: "Huh? Luna, haven't you been on the internet?"
KING SOMBRA: "Crystals..."
[clears throat] "Wow, small wonder I became something of a joke in the fandom, if that was all I got to say for nearly six seasons."
SPIKE: "That Angel Bunny. Up to no good as usual! And here I thought Discord caused chaos."
DISCORD: "You rang? Oh, all these pets sow plenty of chaos, you know. Why, I should stick around to see it -"
SPIKE: No, Discord. We're not doing that."
TWILIGHT: "Hm. Feels like this would be a good point to insert a meta-joke about how I look very much like my future Princess self in this shot, with the glowing heavenly/demon eyes and everything. Here we go -"
APPLEJACK: "No, Twilight, no we're not doing that, sugarcube."
Hello everyone I hope you are enjoying May. This month is going to be my most packed yet. Yeah, you read that title right. Not only will I be hitting you with the season 5 finale, but also a brand new Ember story, already finished, and a look at the second book in my original series, first act is finished but I will be posting it out slowly on Inkitt, one chapter a week. I got a lot of stuff done recently and I was so pumped about bringing it all to you. I'll tell you more about my new Ember
As the main character, Twilight Sparkle made a big transition from student to new mentor over the 9 seasons of FIM. Perhaps that's why there were so many episodes were she only had one scene?
Welp, the shipping shuffle is all set. Digest with caution.
This week's a continuation of My Little Unicorn: OH GOD WHY. Enjoy.
Here are my Afterthoughts for "The Break Up Break Down"! A little bit less than in other weeks, but there are still some interesting observations to be made:
Scribblefest judging is winding down, and I’m working on getting the last few stories judged. Expect some more review posts early next week on the rest of the stories, but I’ll be getting all the rest of them read and judged this evening.
Reminder to those who are participating - I'm but one judge of nine, so my opinions are not the final word on these stories.

This episode almost made me spill my drink on the screen. The reveal that Garble is Smolder's brother came quick, efficiently and merciless. Even after missing the first few minutes of the episode, and therefore all that talk about how Smolder's brother is a softie like Spike, this plot twist still blew my mind. Smolder isn't anything like Garble, how can two dragons who are so different be siblings? One of these apples definitely fell far from the tree. And knowing Garble and looking at his
Sorry we're late, Ring was asleep and that left Crazy and SC276 to put tonight's doc together.
Last week was the start of a horrible, wonderful thing. You guys are so lucky to get to live this. There are a lot of moments in this fic that fall within the first couple chapters that I can't WAIT to inflict upon you.
So, in this episode, there's something that intrigues me and got me thinking the most, but I'll come to that later. First, the obvious elephant dragon in the room..... Sludge. Spike's dad, or, at least what he wanted to make Spike believe he is.
For my readers: My self-imposed break is nearing its end. It will still go a little longer, but I will return to my writing soon after taking care of a few more things.
