Retrospective Review: Strong Seconds · 4:09am Jul 8th, 2021

Not an episode review this time.

PresentPerfect writes about the "Applejack Problem", that a character with everything figured out becomes too boring. Her cutie mark is literally deciding she wants to stay home.

Retrospective Review: A Dog and Pony Show and Green Isn't Your Color · 7:10am Mar 10th, 2021

S1E19 A Dog and Pony Show

I remember not caring for this episode, and watching it again confirms the sentiment.

This is the episode that introduces Sapphire Shores, and I'm struck by how forgettable the character is. Had you asked me earlier which episode the character first appeared in, I probably would have gotten it wrong. I didn't remember the character's voice, nor her lines. Thus, this side character had less impact than Hoity Toity or Photo Finish (next episode!).

Greetings my Brony brethren!

A belated Happy New Year to you all!

Well, this certainly took a lot longer to get out than I expected. The Christmas season ate up a lot of my time. This ended up becoming my first blog of this year.

Well, guys, I did the thing. And then some.

I have just now caught up with the entirety of Season 5. The reason it took so long is because I got it into my head that I should rewatch the entire show again.

Episodes 1 & 2

Well, the opener is creepy as all fuck. There are kids in that town, for one thing. We finally have a villain who has targeted children on screen. More relevant stallions, good too.

2019 in Retrospective · 2:09am Jan 1st, 2020

Here we are, folks. Last day of the year, counting down the hours until the new year is rung in.

2019. A lot has happened for me over the past 12 months, both good and bad. I've gotten to see some really enjoyable movies this year, ranging from Endgame, John Wick Parabellum and King of the Monsters as well as Detective Pikachu, to name just a few. My dad and I also finished our project of watching the Adam West Batman series, which was a lot of fun :pinkiehappy:

I did kind of do a reflection of sorts on the end of Chapter 29 of ECQ&tAE, but I think I'll do a more general one for my blog.

Well... my second long story on this site is completed. ECQ&tAE, done, finished, with perhaps one lazy slice of life for Alternia and the gang down the pipe.

The Quickening: Why Jules Verne is still relevant? · 3:38pm Jan 18th, 2019

On one occasion I went to buy a book by Jules Verne, Five Weeks in a Balloon. The person who sold it to me asked "What is it about?"; my answer made me realize how boring it may sound. It's about an expedition to Africa to discover the source of the Nile River, I replied.
