[PROTIP: Please note that the hyperbolic tone of this post is for comedic effect. While I certainly don’t think Fall of Equestria is in any way worth defending, I also think it is largely beneath my notice and not worth getting all up in arms over.]
We finally return to my series of critiques about the ISII entrants. We continue down my list of “finalists”: stories which I considered awarding points to. I would like to stress, however, that I only ranked them because FanOfMostEverything made me; they are all excellent.
I've suspected for a while that I would not be able to critique every story in the contest. At least not in long form. I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
I got an idea for a new story about a masochistic Vinyl Scratch getting beaten up by Octavia. The only problem is that I can't decide whether or not to give Octavia a futa cock to smack her with.

Nobody deserves things. Nobody at all.
Let me back this up. I've been seeing on the internet recently some spirited discussion about whether certain redemption moments -- and "redemption" moments -- in a recent popular television series were "deserved." Everyone gets sad, obviously. We can relate to a characters' sadness and feel it as our own, when well written. This should serve as a quick guide to common pitfalls and how/why to avoid them.
The description and title are some of the most important parts of a story. They provide readers with their first impression, convince them to read it, and characterize your story even after it is finished.
1. Get an editor.
2. Experiment with the different genre - this is good for helping you account have variety and also helping you explore your own strengths as a writer.
3. Don't take too many projects up at one time - I made that mistake as you can see by all my incomplete works.
4. Communicate with your fans and followers. Make some friends!
Unfortunately, not every critique can fill up a thousand word blog post. Here is a selection of reviews/critiques, in two sentences each.
